Right now, one of the best angles in AEW is Bryan Danielson looking to start his own faction. He wants to take the young talent of AEW under his wing, and guide them to become killers in the ring – instead of being raised as jokes. However he doesn’t want to do this alone – and has looked to get Jon Moxley on his side.
Bryan Danielson Wants The Best Brawler In The World By His Side
When Bryan Danielson would join David and Kaz on The Masked Man Show – he’d explain what the original thought for this storyline was. The following would explain his character in this storyline.
“The idea would be, because I just talked about The Young Bucks and their style of wrestling, and a lot of the older generation not getting it. Part of the idea is to be in that older generation, being a guy that says, ‘Hey, there’s too much fooling around here. Cut out the crap. Mox, you and me, we’re going to show these kids what wrestling is all about.’”
But when it comes to why he chose Jon Moxley? It’s rather simple. Bryan Danielson views himself as the best technical wrestler in the world, and Jon Moxley as the best brawler in the world.
“You take somebody like Mox, who in my mind, you think of, ok, if you take the best brawler in the world, then you take the best technical wrestler in the world, you put them together and teach these kids violence as opposed to comedy, and all the different stories that can come out of that.”
This Match Was Planned For 2021
Right now, both men are still trying to figure out if this union will work. Jon Moxley has acknowledged that Danielson has infact made some great points. He simply needs to test Danielson in the ring, bleed with him. This has led to a match that is set for AEW Revolution 2022.
Fans were supposed to see this match back in 2021, with it being the planned finals for the AEW World Championship Elimination tournament. However, Jon Moxley checking out of AEW and into rehab gave us Bryan Danielson vs. Miro instead.
