In 2022, The Miz is simply looking for some respect. However, that’s hard to find when the likes of Rey Mysterio are being chosen as the cover star of WWE 2K22. Tonight, Miz has a chance to really earn some respect as he takes on Mysterio one on one at Elimination Chamber during the pre-show.
The Miz Falls To Rey Mysterio On The Pre-Show Of Elimination Chamber
Miz would go right after Mysterio as the match began with some boots in the corner before a clubbing blow to the back of the neck. Mysterio would hit a flying headscissor and send Miz into position for the 619, but Miz would slip out of the ring. A baseball slide set up the sliding splash from Mysterio.
Back in the ring, Mysterio hit some downward punches, before getting slingshotted into the bottom rope. A knee to the midsection would be followed by a kick to the face, getting Miz a two count. The boot to the face would drop Mysterio after Miz took a punch from Dominik Mysterio, before Rey would hit the flying headscissors into the ring post.
Miz would hit a DDT, but only got a two count. Mysterio would set up the 619, and nailed the kick. He’d go to the top rope, but Miz rolled out of the ring instead and grabbed a steel chair before Mysterio launched himself onto Miz. Dominik Mysterio took the chair from Miz and got thrown out, but Rey got the roll up for the victory. Miz would keep attacking after the bell, only to take a double 619 and two frog splashes to end this one for tonight.
Roman Reigns Remains WWE Universal Champion
Roman Reigns has a date with Brock Lesnar set for Wrestlemania, but only if he can survive the attack of the legendary Goldberg. The WWE Hall of Famer has declared that Roman Reigns is his next victim, taking aim at the WWE Universal Champion. They were supposed to clash at Wrestlemania back in 2020, but the world had other plans. Tonight, there is nothing stopping these two titans from finally clashing – as we finally see who has the stronger spear.
Before the match, Reigns said the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will acknowledge him. Goldberg was gassed on his way to the ring alone, which boded well for his chances entering this World Championship match. After a quick staredown, they’d lock up and Goldberg showed a slight edge before taking a punch to the face. He’d roll outside, before being slammed off the announce table.
Back in the ring, Goldberg nailed a spear to drop Roman, before looking for Jackhammer and being dropped with a slam. Reigns called for a spear of his own but Goldberg hit his first, before ending up in the chokehold. Goldberg was out within a minute, and Reigns retains.
