Last week, Bron Breakker closed out the show by shutting down the NXT Championship dreams of Santos Escobar. This week, Breakker has something to say as he kicks off the show, ahead of a #1 contender match between Dolph Ziggler & Tommaso Ciampa – and more importantly, a promise.
Bron Breakker Can’t Look Past Dolph Ziggler
Vengeance Day was a hard fight, but you’re gonna have to kill Breakker to take the belt off him. The next big show will by NXT’s return to the road as they hit up Wrestlemania weekend for Stand & Deliver. Breakker has a promise right now, and that is he will walk into Wrestlemania weekend a champion, and will leave with the belt as well. Ziggler would make his way to the ramp, and claim that Breakker is too much of a rookie to promise that big.
Tonight when he’s done stomping out Ciampa, he will be on the path to taking the belt from Breakker. Breakker was not worried and called Ziggler to the ring for an asskicking, especially after the superkick that nearly cost him the match. However, Ziggler knows that Breakker will be away from the ring during the main event – and will just have to watch as Ziggler steals the show.
Grayson Waller Gets A Beating From LA Knight
Grayson Waller thought he was done with LA Knight. He’d gotten a restraining order placed on Knight, before violating it when he attacked Knight during a recent match. Now, after Knight was able to defeat Waller’s muscle, the hulking Sanga – and getting the order cleared, he has a chance tonight to give Waller the asskicking he’s been deserving of for several months now.
As the bell rang, Waller would flee the ring before Knight could even get his hands on him. Knight would eventually catch him with a lariat, before hitting a slingshot shoulder tackle. Waller would trip Knight into the turnbuckle, before getting caught on the top rope and sent right to the outside.
The beating would follow Waller to the outside, and back into the ring where Knight applied a side headlock. Waller would do his best to fight free, and would take Knight to the outside. Sanga ran the distraction and Knight met the steel steps moments later. A suplex in the ring set up the rope walk elbow drop, getting a near fall.
A kick to the jaw of Knight would follow, before the Landslide slam for a near fall. Waller would stroll to the outside to set up the rolling Stunner, but Knight had this well scouted – and caught Waller with the backdrop. Knight nailed the big back body drop, and followed up with the neckbreaker.
Sanga saved Waller from the BFT, and an inside cradle with a handful of tights allowed Waller to get the win. After the match, Knight nailed two BFT’s – but tonight wasn’t the end, and a Last Man Standing Match was teased.
Will Knight get revenge on Waller before joining the main roster? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
