At AEW Revolution, Adam Cole gets his chance to become AEW World Heavyweight Champion when he takes on Hangman Page. However tonight, he teams with Kyle O’Reilly & Bobby Fish to try and take on Page and some of his Dark Order friends. John Silver & Alex Reynolds have stepped up to help take down the trio formerly known as The Undisputed Era. Cole, Fish & O’Reilly have only teamed up once in AEW – defeating Best Friends & Orange Cassidy, but ruled the WWE NXT brand for years.
But First, Let’s See Some Powerbombs
However, before that – Mr. Mayhem is here to nail some powerbombs. This Sunday, he takes on Keith Lee, Powerhouse Hobbs, Ricky Starks and Orange Cassidy in the Face of the Revolution Ladder match. Tonight, it’s Cezar Bononi who faces Wardlow.
He’d send Wardlow off the ropes and look for a back body drop. Instead, he’d be hit with three powerbombs, putting Wardlow to 23-1 in his last 24 matches. The only blemish came from his match with CM Punk. After the match, Wardlow stopped Shawn Spears from stealing the spotlight with chair shots – and Spears didn’t risk angering Wardlow.
After this, MJF let Wardlow know that if he claims the TNT Championship – he can keep it… since MJF doesn’t actually see that happening. Wardlow claimed this was because he’s busy fighting MJF’s battles – and received a slap to the mouth in response.
Adam Cole Stands Tall Over Hangman Page & Dark Order
Everyone was ready to get started, but Hangman & Cole would start. Cole retreated and tagged Fish into the match. Hangman would stomp Fish into the corner, before O’Reilly got the tag. He’d be suplexed onto his partner, before Silver & Reynolds hit the ring. Cole would enter the ring again after O’Reilly & Fish had weakened Reynolds.
Hangman Page would get the tag – but reDRagon would double team him to cut him down to size. Cole thought it was safe to hit the ring, before nearly being spiked with Deadeye. Page would take a superkick to the back of the knee, but was able to avoid The Boom. Silver would get the tag, only to be punished with elbow strikes from O’Reilly.
Now isolated in the wrong corner, Silver was beaten down by reDRagon. He’d fight free and get Page back into the ring, and he’d toss O’Reilly away before diving onto Fish. A powerbomb on O’Reilly got a near fall – before finally matching up with Cole. They’d trade blows in the middle of the ring before Silver, Reynolds & reDRagon joined the fight.
Reynolds would get Cole alone in the ring, but was beaten down and dropped with The Boom – ending this match. The fight kept going however, but Hangman Page would almost get Cole with the Buckshot. Fish cut him down on the apron, and Page would be duct taped to the ropes and battered with strikes.
Silver tried to make the save, but took the High Low. Reynolds took Panama Sunrise, and Page could just watch. Page would be beaten down by superkicks and forearms, before Cole said his reign ends Sunday.
