Despite only being in the starting days of March, Tony Khan has been a very busy man in 2022. Early AEW contracts were coming to an end, and he was working hard to purchase Ring of Honor. When it came to contract negotiations would lead to some like The Young Bucks & Kenny Omega sticking around – but Cody Rhodes would decide to leave AEW. ]
This took one of their top talents, with Rhodes being a three time TNT Champion. However, Cody and his wife Brandi wore many hats in WWE – which meant AEW also lost one of the Executive Vice Presidents of the company, as well as their Chief Brand Officer.
Tony Khan Doesn’t Need Another EVP – Will Be Looking For A New Chief Brand Officer
While speaking with Baby Huey on the ‘In The Kliq’ podcast, Tony Khan would open up about how both Rhodes leaving affects AEW, and that they have one role to be filled.
“They were both big parts of the company from our launch. I give them so much credit for being a big part of our success, both of them. I’m not planning to replace the Executive Vice President role. I take on a lot of responsibility myself and we have some great people in that position right now, other Vice Presidents, and I work with a great team.
For that position, we’ll have to look, and also for the Chief Brand Officer position, you know, Brandi has been awesome for us. So that one I will likely fill, but right now we’re just moving forward. I think the company’s stronger than it’s ever been today. So right now, everybody’s on the road to Revolution.”
Right now, we are less than 24 hours away from AEW Revolution – meaning the search for a new CBO will need to wait until this PPV has been left in the dust. The card has many big matches, including Hangman Page vs. Adam Cole, Eddie Kingston vs. Chris Jericho, Britt Baker vs. Thunder Rosa, and even a Dog Collar Match between CM Punk & MJF.
Will another wrestler be chosen to fill the Chief Brand Officer role within AEW? Which match are you most excited for on AEW Revolution? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
