When Matt Hardy was booted from The Andrade Hardy Family Office, with even Private Party turning on him? Someone needed to come to his aid. Jeff Hardy would make his AEW debut, and now The Hardy Boyz unite for the first time on AEW programming to face Private Party.
The Hardy Brother Are Here In AEW
With their iconic theme song blasting, The Hardy Brothers would hit the ring – and the energy in the arena was unmatched in that moment. Having mentored Private Party for the past year, Hardy has taught Quen & Kassidy a lot of what they know – but not nearly everything he knows.
A brawl would see Matt come out on top, before Jeff got the tag. Double back elbow would see the senton and fist drop combo, before The Hardy’s nailed Kassidy with Poetry In Motion, before Jeff applied the rear chinlock. A double suplex would get a two count, before Quen fought back with an enziguri.
Kassidy would get the tag, and Private Party yanked Matt crotch first into the ring post. Private Party was able to apply the pressure to their former mentor, keeping him away from his brother. Kassidy would take a punch to the face on the floor, but Quen was able to drop him with a dive over the top rope.
Jeff Hardy Claims His First Win
Matt would find the opening and complete the hot tag, and Jeff Hardy would drop Kassidy with some classic offence for a two count. Russian Leg Sweep would be followed by a leg drop into a pinfall, but Kassidy was able to hang on. Gordbuster would follow, and he’d head to the top rope – before Quen tripped him up.
Matt would take Kassidy down, and allow for the Swanton Bomb – but Jeff Hardy opted for a splash instead. Kassidy held on and looked for Silly String, before taking Twist of Fate. Swanton Bomb would follow, and Jeff Hardy got his first of many wins in AEW.
Andrade would hit the ramp following this match – backed by Butcher & The Blade. They were surrounded, but Darby Allin & Sting would make the save – and suddenly things were more even.
