Maksim Chmerkovskiy has returned to the United States, which puts an end to the recent ordeal he had been through amid the Russia-Ukraine war.
DWTS: Maksim Chmerkovskiy Arrives Back To The US And Is Reunited With His Wife Peta Murgatroyd After Fleeing Ukraine
The ‘Dancing with the Stars’ judge was stuck in Ukraine, which raised concerns over whether he would be able to make it out alive. And by having a wife (Peta Murgatroyd) and child waiting at home for him, it was vital that he kept himself in one piece.
And after having managed to make it across the border into Poland, he was able to board a flight that has now allowed him to return home.
In the pictures here, we can see Maksim has entered the arrivals section at Los Angeles International Airport. He then embraces Peta, as the two of them are clearly emotional at what has been a very difficult period.
There is no denying that Maksim managed to do what others may not have been able to. He has the luxury of another passport, something which his fellow countrymen do not have. As such, huge numbers of people have been forced to flee to neighboring countries such as Poland and Romania, with no job nor home.
Although that is not something that can be directed towards Maksim, his comments suggested that he did feel guilty in leaving the country. In a statement, he had said: “I felt wrong leaving…”I don’t know if they’re dead.”
The fans, however, were simply happy to see him. It is not clear where he will go from here, as the chances of him being involved in any dancing on the show are bound to be very slim.
In this way, it is probably best that he focuses on himself and spends time with his family. And this was reflected in the comments that emerged on social media. One fan wrote: “So relieved for both of you.”
Maksim was in a difficult position, as others in his position decided to stay and fight. However, in such a conflict, there is no right or wrong answer. And now that he is no longer in Ukraine, he can help his countrymen from the outside. So there you have it folks. Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
