Professional dancer Peta Murgatroyd has thanked her fans for showing support amid the news that her husband, Maks Chmerkovskiy, is stuck in Ukraine during the current war with Russia.

Things have been very difficult for Peta by virtue of the fact that they do share a son. This has made things more troubling, especially since he is only 5-years-old.
While Maks has a lot to deal with, there is no denying that the absence of her husband has had a significant impact on her mental health.
But during these dark moments, she was able to rely on the goodwill gestures of those around her. And this is something that she greatly appreciated. In a post to her fans on Instagram, she shared a picture of some cookies.
The post was captioned by the following comments: “Although I’m going through hell right now and I want it all to end…there is light that shines through the darkness.
“Strangers baked me cookies and proudly brought them to my door. They stood there with smiles so wide.” This is exactly the type of support that Peta needs at this moment.
She expanded on how she had been contacted by those, who she had not spoken with throughout many years. Not only that, but she was also buoyed by the response that her husband had given to the post.
In an attempt to reassure her that everything was going to be fine, Maks told her that he was looking forward to the cookies. In a statement in response, he remarked: “I love you and I’ll see you soon! Save me a cookie.”
Understandably, the fans came out in droves in order to confirm the feelings that had been expressed by Peta. And they let her know that they were there for her should she need any help.
One person wrote: “We are praying for your family and all of Ukraine.” Peta will be hoping that Maks is able to make it home, and given what she has been through, hopefully this happens sooner rather than later.
