Model and former porn superstar Jenna Jameson was in the hospital with a mysterious ailment in January. After tests and treatment, she was discharged in February but her condition remains a mystery.
Jenna Jameson Discharged from Hospital and Is Able to Stand with a Walker
On Wednesday, January 12, the 47-year-old announced that she was diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome. Guillain-Barré syndrome is a rare autoimmune condition that damages the nerves. It’s so rare that it impacts one out of every 100,000 people annually and the causes for it are unknown according to the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke.
While that would’ve explained the weakness in legs and illness Jameson had been experiencing, her fiancé Lior Button revealed that tests showed she’d been misdiagnosed.
Her current condition allowed her to return home but she was still unable to physically support her own weight and stand on her own. As a result, she was been bedridden and had to use a wheelchair. Now, she is able to stand with the assistance of a walker.
In an Instagram video posted on March 4, Jameson would provide an update saying that they still “don’t know exactly what is going on.” If there is any silver lining here it’s that she’s feeling better from previous months.
While her exact illness is unknown, she was able to give more insight as to what is affecting her mobility:
“I still have more testing to do, but it seems there’s something off with my femoral nerve, and it’s affecting my strength in my legs.”
Jenna Jameson would also thank her fans and followers for their support and is glad to at least be back at home. An Instagram story update from earlier today shows Jameson using a walker to stand with the caption “GETTING STRONGER.”
