Since winning the TNT Championship, Scorpio Sky has waited for a proper challenger to step up. However, he needs to deal with the former champion Sammy Guevara first – a man who refuses to leave him alone. With both the championship and his 402 day undefeated streak on the line, Sky will do anything to make sure he doesn’t lose tonight.
Scorpio Sky Is 15-0 In Singles Matches Over Last 400+ Days
Guevara had his girlfriend Tay Conti in his corner tonight for this match, while Scorpio Sky would have American Top Team’s Dan Lambert in his corner. Lambert had his own TNT Championship around his waist, but was not defending tonight (or ever).
Guevara would rush Sky to start, hitting some wild strikes into the corner. Sky would explode back out with the strong double leg takedown before some ground and pound blows in the middle of the ring. Guevara would be driven into the corner for more strikes, before getting payback with some elbows to the head – and some biting.
Sky would hit a knife edge chop, before being dropped with a backdrop. Guevara would choke Sky on the middle rope before looking for the leapfrog over Sky – and was nearly caught into the TKO. Sky would be unable to drop Guevara, and the dropkick landed on the second attempt.
Sky would roll to the outside, and was able to drop Guevara with a bodyslam. He’d try to toss Guevara into the ring steps, but Guevara was able to get onto the steps and nail the moonsault. Sky would head to the apron, and was able to nail Guevara with a massive TKO to the floor.
Sammy Guevara
Neither man was feeling good off this move, but Sky made his feet first. He’d toss Guevara face first into the steel steps, and Sky would look for the victory via countout. Guevara got back into the ring, only to be battered with some heavy body shots in the corner.
The crowd was 100% behind Sky at this point of the match, and he’d nail a pendulum backbreaker that’d make Roderick Strong blush. A second would soon follow, and the crowd chanted for this move one more time. The third would land, and Sky moved into a submission type hold, before Guevara would flip and land on his feet for an enziguri.
Guevara would gain some momentum and hit the Spanish Fly for a two count. A leaping mule kick in the corner would set up the 630 senton. Ethan Page hit the ringside area and pulled Sky from the ring, only for Guevara to hit a shooting star press to the floor. Sky would take a kick to the head in the ring, before Guevara hit the double springboard into the cutter for a near fall.
Dan Lambert would run a distraction, but Tay Conti would get involved. Lambert would call Paige VanZant to ringside and a brawl ensued. Guevara used the distraction to hit a low blow and the GTH for the victory.
We have a new and now three time TNT Champion! Alongside Tay Conti, he’d make his way up the ramp – almost veer’d down the heel tunnel, before leaving through the face tunnel.
