For the last few months, Scorpio Sky has had a bone to pick with AEW management. After winning the 2021 Face of The Revolution Ladder match – he’s been having issues getting on TV, and despite being undefeatable for the past year, as not gotten a shot at the TNT Championship. Ethan Page & Dan Lambert have helped to boost his message – and now they seem to have finally gotten through to AEW owner Tony Khan.
Tony Khan Acknowledges Scorpio Sky Is Long Overdue For A Shot At TNT Championship
While speaking on the AEW Unrestricted podcast, AEW owner Tony Khan would acknowledge that Scorpio Sky has a point. Since losing his match with Darby Allin over the TNT Championship, Sky has not been pinned or submitted. This is 364 days without a defeat – with his only losses coming in multi-man tag team matches, where he was not the one to take the fall.
While the winner of the 2022 Face of The Revolution Ladder match will be the one who gets the next shot at whoever leaves tonight’s episode of AEW Rampage as TNT Champion – Sky is next in line. Khan has recently promised that new storylines will begin after AEW Revolution, and Sky chasing gold is likely to be one of those.
Could Sky Become The First Ever Triple Crown Champion In AEW History?
Having signed on with AEW for a few more years, Sky is one of the AEW originals who should be able to continue to shine in the company. Having already claimed the AEW World Tag Team Championships, Sky just needs the TNT & AEW World Championships to become the first ever Triple Crown champion in the company.
The only other talent seemingly projected to pull this off is current AEW World Tag Team Champion, Jungle Boy. He likewise needs the TNT & AEW World Championships. Hangman Page is the closest to this goal, just needing the TNT Championship – but seeing him drop the to TNT Championship division is unlikely at this point.
