It was recently rumoured that LA Knight was on his way to the WWE main roster – but in the new role of a manager. Fans were sceptical of this at first, as similar rumours were spread about Adam Cole prior to his WWE exit in 2021. However, during a dark match ahead of tonights episode of Smackdown Live, the world was introduced to the LA Modeling Association and it’s first client.
LA Knight Buddies Up With Mace To Form The LA Modeling Association
Coming out to the ring, LA Knight would announce the formation of the LA Modeling Association, and would bring the first client to the ring for a match. This would be Mace, formerly of the Retribution faction. A talented worker who has been able to make the most of bad gimmicks in the past, anything that gets Mace some solid TV time will be a healthy change for his WWE career.
With Knight doing the talking, and Mace doing the matches – you have a very solid combo. Mace would defeat Erik of the Viking Raiders in singles action. One of the perks of Knight as a manager is much like MVP on the RAW brand, he is more than capable of getting into the ring – as proven by his recent run on NXT 2.0.
Dark matches are often just a way to test the waters on a particular gimmick or result, and don’t always make their way to TV. The audience had a confused reaction to this new act, but overall it works. LA Knight is one of the best talkers in the game today, and Mace has not been on TV since 2021. It just comes down to the reaction of Vince McMahon in the end – as he gets the last say on whatever makes it to TV – even in 2022.
