Right now, we’re seeing a lot of talent make their way from NXT to the main roster once again. For the first time since the transition to NXT 2.0 – callups are happening, and we’ve already seen GUNTHER, Marcel Barthel, & Raquel Gonzalez make their way out. Others such as Tommaso Ciampa, Dakota Kai, and more are planned. However, LA Knight might have a unique move to the main roster.
LA Knight To Be Transitioned Into Manager For WWE?
At 39 years old, LA Knight is perhaps the oldest wrestler on the NXT 2.0 roster right now, and while he has proven to be a capable worker – his future in WWE might see him slow down his work in the ring. Being one of the best talkers in the company might have influenced this, but recent reports have indicated that when he hits the main roster – Knight will become a manager.
Some reports would even go as far as to say that this was requested by Knight himself. It would allow him to extend his career – and isn’t out of the norm in wrestling history. Some of the greatest managers of all time had a career in the ring, and are the ones who are able to take some abuse at ringside. If Knight comes to the main roster and goes right into helping out wrestlers who lack mic skills is unclear, but could be a possibilities.
Similar To The Rumoured Plans For Adam Cole Prior To WWE Exit
If this plan sounds familiar, it is because similar rumoured plans circulated around Adam Cole before he’d instead sign a contract with AEW. Cole would shoot down these rumours, saying that at the very least – he was never approached with the idea. Fans had a resoundingly negative reaction to this news.
This was mostly due to Cole arguably being in the prime years of his career. Knight on the other hand is someone who might have a better career in this role, and could become a longtime name on TV.
