Over the past few months, LA Knight has proven to be one of the most popular names in NXT 2.0 – but he perhaps bit off more than he could chew tonight. He would be called out by GUNTHER, saying that while Knight could talk up a storm – he is nowhere near the athlete that GUNTHER is. They recently clashed in a six man tag team match, but tonight it’s one on one. LA Knight might be a great sports entertainer – but can he prove tonight he’s also a great professional wrestler?
GUNTHER Has New Theme Song But Same Threatening Aura
Hitting the ring with a new and sadly very generic theme song instead of the epic Symphony No. 9, GUNTHER still looked as imposing as ever. LA Knight was not intimidated however, even after having taken the chops of GUNTHER his past Tuesday on NXT 2.0.
They’d lock up hard in the middle of the ring, and GUNTHER threw the first strike – a warning shot to the face. Knight would fire up and drive GUNTHER into the corner, but GUNTHER slipped out of the ring. GUNTHER would catch Knight with a powerbomb on the apron, before some clubbing elbows to the back in the ring.
GUNTHER would apply the bulldog choke, before taking Knight into the corner for some heavy european uppercuts. Knight tried to make the comeback, only to be cut down with a lariat. STF would be applied, but Knight would fight free and nail a back body drop.
LA Knight Needs To Be Scraped Off The Mat
Knight would lose any semblance of advantage as he ran into one of the chest splitting chops from GUNTHER. He’d be able to counter a suplex attempt, and had a chance to dish out the chops to GUNTHER in the corner before a rushing knee strike. Megastar Elbow Drop would land, before GUNTHER would be taken off the top rope with a big superplex.
Knight looked for BFT – but was shoved off. The chop was blocked, but GUNTHER would find the chest and then the back. Sleeper Hold would be applied, and Knight would block up into a Burning Hammer for the near fall. LA Knight would look to go to the top rope, before having his knees chopped.
GUNTHER would batter Knight off the top rope with a lariat, before nailing the splash and the powerbomb for the victory. A message has been sent from The Ring General – and that is do not step to him if you want to survive.
