Melora Hardin has recalled how devastated she was to have missed out on the opportunity to be casted in the ‘Back to the Future’ franchise.
Melora Hardin Recalls How She Felt After Missing Out On Starring In The ‘Back To The Future’ Franchise-‘It Was Very Painful’
The movies, starring Michael J. Fox as Marty McFly, have captivated many generations. So much so that they have become a part of cinematic history.
And knowing what we know now, it has understandably left Melora feeling a tinge of regret over what could have been had destiny played its cards in another way.
In an interview with Page Six, she said: “[It was] so very, very painful. There’s no doubt it was very painful.” One of the main reasons why it was difficult for Melora was the timing.
At that moment, she just so happened to be 17-years-old. Therefore, by being rejected at such a young age, it was hard to take knowing that she was close to being cast as Jennifer Parker.
And at one point she was casted, only for this to change when Eric Stoltz was replaced by Michael J. Fox to play Marty, which then caused Melora to leave.
After all, who knows where the movie could have gone with her, and yet, she has not let it drag her down too much. She added: “I’d already had painful things happen, so I knew how to get through things.”
But ever since that moment, Melora has forged a successful career in her own right. She has starred in major projects such as ‘The Office,’ Quincy and CSI.
Although it is possible to argue that none of those were as big as ‘Back to the Future,’ she has been happy with how her career has managed to pan out. Her following comments confirmed as much: “Looking back on it, it’s [rejection] probably good.”
Melora may not have been alongside Michael J Fox, but on reflection, it would have been hard for her to beat what the film has managed to do.
