AEW made news in 2021 by opening the Forbidden Door and working with other companies like the NWA and Impact Wrestling during the pandemic.
It was an interesting turn in their business model as it was reported previous to that that Tony Kahn wouldn’t allow other companies’ championships shown or mentioned as it’d give them free publicity.
As it turned out, it was a great business decision as it helped draw more fans to the various companies, including AEW.
Now it looks like Kahn’s reopened the Forbidden Door again, or the reports of W. Morrissey not being under contract with Impact Wrestling is correct.
Impact doesn’t have a problem working with other companies, and their wrestlers work various companies all the time so it could simply be that type of situation.
However it’s being done, MJF teased W. Morrissey coming to AEW as a hired gun to take care of Wardlow.
.@the_MJF sets up a match for @realwardlow next week against a man who is "smarter", "stronger" and "taller than #MrMayhem.

Power vs. power
With Lance Archer failing to stop Wardlow on April 27 episode of AEW Dynamite, MJF appeared later on the show for an interview. He was on the phone offering someone 6 figured to face Wardlow next week.
He then hinted about Wardlow’s next opponent.
“Wardlow, next week you’re gonna be going up against a man who is smarter than you. Who is stronger than you. And who is taller than you. And you can’t teach that.”
The phrase “you can’t teach that” seems like a nod to Morrissey, who has made a name for himself in Impact Wrestling after signing with them as a heel and recently turning face when he feuded with Moose and not Brian Myers and Matt Cardona.
That’s going to make this interesting as he’s currently a face, but it could be worked out or ignored by Impact.
Known previously as Big Cass in the WWE, Morrissey would be a good one to face Wardlow, though it’d be interesting to see how he’s booked as we doubt Wardlow will lose.
Maybe a double disqualification or a no contest?
Of course, MJF could be talking about someone else coming in but Morrissey seems to be the odds on favorite.
Some of the other options are Paul Wight as he’s under contract with AEW, someone in the Indies, or even a legend like Sid Vicious if he’s still in wrestling shape and is willing.
With all that being said, we think it’ll be Morrissey. Who do you think MJF was talking about? Let us know in the comments below.
