Kicking off action tonight at Windy City Riot, we have some talent from AEW looking to make an impact. The Factory are here – but they need to get past the LA Dojo traniees, as they face Yuya Uemura, Karl Fredericks & Clark Connors. It’s hard to defeat these men who have been trained by Katsuyori Shibata – but the experience edge is with QT Marshall.
The Factory Cheat To Defeat The LA Dojo
We’d tune into this match at a midway point due to some technical issues on Fite.TV. Clark Connors was in control with a spear through the ropes – taking Aaron Solow off the apron. A big elbow drop in the ring would follow, before Karl Fredericks used Connors as a launch pad for a double stomp. Nick Comoroto would wipe out Uemura – before hitting a double samoan drop on Fredericks and Uemura.
QT Marshall would hit an enziguri was this one broke down, with Solow nailing a spin kick to Conners – before he’d bounce off the rope with a spear. Uemura would meet Marshall in the ring- but was able to block the Diamond Cutter and hit a German Suplex for a near fall. Comoroto and Solow would make the save, but had a miscue before Uemura would almost hit a Samoan Drop on Comoroto – but instead sent him to the outside with a low bridge.
In the ring, Uemura would take a low blow and the Diamond Cutter – and The Factory steals the win tonight. For a veteran like Marshall to have to resort to a low blow to defeat someone still in the training stage of his career? That shows just how much of a threat Uemura already is.
Team Filthy Have Run NJPW Strong For Over A Year
Team Filthy are still the group that runs NJPW Strong – and tonight they intend to stand strong against five of the biggest faces stateside. Josh Alexander, Fred Rosser, Chris Dickinson, Ren Narita, & Alex Coughlin are a tough test for anyone to beat. Team Filthy members Danny Limelight, Black Tiger, Royce Isaacs, JR Kratos, & Jorel Nelson are up for the challenge tonight.
This would quickly turn into a ten man brawl – with Rosser remaining in the ring with Limelight. He’d nail some heavy lariats in the ring before a set of hip drops, before tagging in Alexander. Limelight would get an arm drag and dropkick – before hitting the senton over the ropes.
West Coast Wrecking Crew would start the tag team attack on Alexander – but were taken down. Nelson was dropped with a slam, before Alexander tagged in Coughlin. Coughlin would look for a headlock, before being taken into the corner – and would avoid a chop and nail one of his own.
Narita & Coughlin would hit a double hip toss, before Isaacs would get the tag. The influence of Shibata would show, as Narita lit Isaacs up with sudden strikes before a suplex into a bridge pin. Dickinson would tag in, and ran down Isaacs with lariats in the corner. Nelson would join the pile as machine gun lariats landed.
Nelson & Isaacs would be able to use the numbers game to beat Dickinson down before a five man pose. Kratos would drive Dickinson down with a heavy lariat – before tossing him with a suplex across the ring.
Fred Rosser Sends A Message
Limelight got the tag, and would hit a superkick to the midsection – before Dickinson nailed a massive lariat. Rosser got the tag alongside Black Tiger – and run down both BT & Limelight. Rosser would hit a running Death Valley Driver.
This match broke down into a brawl, with Alexander suplexing both members of West Coast Wrecking Crew. Kratos hit a powerbomb to Alexander, before Coughlin would trade heavy blows with Kratos in the middle of the ring.
Coughlin would almost get the German Suplex, but Kratos held his ground. Another strike the spine would follow before the delayed vertical suplex took the 310lb man up. Isaacs hit the ring and set Coughlin up on the top rope but was shoved off. Nelson held him in place, and Isaacs hit a top rope powerslam before an elbow drop off the top rope.
Narita & Dickinson would run them down – before suplexes in tandem. BT & Limelight cleared the ring – before Rosser grabbed the Crossface Chickenwing – a move passed down to him by Bob Backlund during their alliance in WWE. Kratos made the save, and sent Rosser to the outside before diving head first over the turnbuckle and took them all down.
In the ring, Rosser would get BT with the Gut Check and Crossface Chickenwing for the victory. He’d hold this after the bell – sending a message to Tom Lawlor.
