The feud between The Factory & The Nightmare Family rages on, with this week seeing two debuts on AEW Dynamite. Cody Rhodes is teaming with the son of Arn Anderson, Brock Anderson, who has never wrestled a proper match before but has gotten high marks from backstage trainers. Meanwhile, QT Marshall has Aaron Solow, who has been on AEW Dark quite often since 2020, but has never been able to wrestle on Dynamite until now. Last week, Marshall hit Arn with a strap, and Brock took him down.
The Factory Try To Take Control
Brock would start with Solow, and almost ended up in the corner of The Factory early. Rhodes gave some quick advice, and Brock grabbed a wrist lock. Solow was able to counter, but Brock took him right down. Marshall tagged in, and Brock punched him in the face and tagged in Rhodes.
Rhodes sent Marshall running to tag Solow, but Rhodes dove onto him anyway. Solow would take advantage when Rhodes got back into the ring with a double stomp, and Rhodes was getting stuck in the corner of The Factory. That was until Marshall lost control of Rhodes on a back suplex, and Brock tagged in. He’d ram Marshall in the corner with some shoulder tackles before a stalling back body drop.
Solow ran into a gutwrench suplex, and Marshall hit the AA Spinebuster and stared Arn in the eyes afterwards, but only got a two count. Brock would be isolated by The Factory, with Marshall laying in the strikes on his former student. A butterfly suplex got a two count, as the crowd started a weak “Anderson” chant. Brock dodged a stinger splash in the corner, and got the tag to Rhodes but the referee didn’t see it.
Brock Anderson Shows His Skills In His Debut Performance
Marshall & Solow hit a backdrop into a neckbreaker, but Brock was able to kick out at two. The Cross Rhodes was set up by Marshall, but Brock countered with a snap DDT and finally tagged in Rhodes. Rhodes exploded into the ring alongside Solow, and took him down with a running powerslam. Marshall was pulled into the ring and beat down, before Rhodes locked in a Figure Four on Solow.
Solow was to close to the ropes, but Rhodes would set up a superplex. Marshall would yank Rhodes off the top rope, but Rhodes came down and caught him with a destroyer. Brock got the tag, and sent Rhodes into a dive to the outside. Solow looked for a Double Underhook Facebuster, but Brock Anderson countered into a flash pinfall for the win in his debut match!
A very old school feeling tag team match, with Brock Anderson showing that he can hang with the likes of QT Marshall and Aaron Solow. It wasn’t complicated, but it didn’t have to be. Rhodes thrives when things are old school, but managed to slip a Destroyer into the match all the same. Match Rating: 3/5 (***)
