At one point, the AEW women’s division was a weak spot for the company. That is no longer a concern, with the likes of Ruby Soho and Toni Storm getting signed, and the likes of Britt Baker, Jade Cargill, Thunder Rosa, Nyla Rose, Serena Deeb and Hikaru Shida really showing their skills. There is still room to grow however – and Toni Storm has an idea of who should get a chance in AEW next.
Toni Storm Wants To See Tegan Nox In AEW
While appearing on Busted Open Radio, Toni Storm would be asked who she would like to see get a chance in the Owen Hart Memorial Cup, which Storm qualified for in her AEW debut. Storm would have the following to say.
“Oh my god. Um, Tegan Nox, I would have to say, would be high up on that list. I think that would be someone who would really deserve an awesome spot like that. I know she loves this business as much as I do, so that would be cool to see that one day in the future. Who knows, anything can happen, it’s pro wrestling.”
Spending Most Of Her Time In WWE Injured
Tegan Nox was released from WWE back in November 2021, soon after being drafted to the Monday Night RAW roster. Despite some big tag team wins alongside Shotzi Blackheart, even defeating the then WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, Nox would not find a longer term role on the roster.
Her time in WWE was mainly spent on the shelf due to injuries, suffering three ACL tears. Every time she comes back with more passion than before, and has been waiting to get her next chance in the industry. Since her time on the indies as Nixon Newell, her skills have been very clear.
With more spots still open in the Owen Hart Memorial Cup, fans hope to see both Tegan Nox & Athena make their debuts and qualify for the coming tournament.
