Amber Heard has reportedly fired her entire PR team amid a series of scathing headlines and a petition that aims to get her entirely removed from the ‘Aquaman’ sequel has gotten over 3 million signatures.
Amber Heard and Johnny Depp are currently embroiled in a multi-million dollar defamation trial in which they both accuse each other of domestic abuse.
Amber Heard Axes PR Team After 3 Million People Sign Petition To Get Her Removed From ‘Aquaman 2
The televised trial has unearthed some unsavory evidence that seemingly proves Heard was violent towards her ex-husband. Heard has received ample backlash for her alleged domestic abuse and even her PR team wasn’t capable of cleaning up her image.
According to a source, Amber “doesn’t like bad headlines,” and is “frustrated with her story not being told effectively”.
In one audio clip, Heard admits to getting physical with Depp while trying to justify her actions by claiming that she was only “hitting” him and not punching him.
“I didn’t punch you. I’m sorry I didn’t hit you across the face in a proper slap. I was hitting you, it was not punching you,” Heard said.
In another audio clip, Amber Heard challenges Johnny Depp to tell the world that she abused him and insists that no one would believe him. “Tell the world, Johnny, tell them, Johnny Depp, I, Johnny Depp, a man, I’m a victim too of domestic violence. See how many people believe or side with you,” she says.
Now, an online petition is steadily gaining momentum to get Amber Heard’s scenes completely wiped from Aquaman 2.
“In his lawsuit, Johnny Depp describes many incidents of domestic abuse that he suffered at the hands of his (then) wife Amber Heard, including one incident where she punched him twice in the face and another where she shattered his finger with a vodka bottle, and his finger had to be surgically reattached,” the petition states.
“Also, Amber Heard was arrested in 2009 for abusing a former domestic partner, Tasya Van Ree, demonstrating a repeated pattern of abuse by Amber Heard,” the petition continues.
“Since Heard’s divorce from Johnny Depp, she has systematically crusaded to ruin Depp in Hollywood, repeating multiple accounts of fake incidents in which she had actually abused Johnny Depp, but lied and created false accounts of him being the abuser.”
The petition cites several other instances of Amber’s alleged abuse, before saying, “Men are victims of domestic abuse, just like women. This must be recognized, and action must be taken to prevent a known abuser from being celebrated within the entertainment industry.” The petition then pleads with the public to, “Do the right thing. Remove Amber Heard from Aquaman 2.”
At the time of writing, the petition had already surpassed it’s goal of 3 million signatures and the numbers continue to climb.
Depp is suing Heard to the tune of $50 million after she alluded that he had abused her in a 2018 Washington Post op-ed. In the piece, Heard referred to herself as a “public figure representing domestic abuse”.
Heard’s accusations have already taken a toll on Depp’s career, as Disney nixed him from the sixth Pirates of the Caribbean film and he was replaced in the third installment of the Fantastic Beasts franchise.
Heard is countersuing Depp for $100 million, alleging that he defamed her as well as domestically abused her. The saga continues to unfold as the trial rages on.
