Snapchat have denied that their latest crying filter was inspired by Amber Heard breaking down in tears during her legal trial with Johnny Depp.
Sources Deny That Snapchat Based Their Crying Filter On Amber Heard But Fans Are Not Convinced-‘It’s Her And We All Know It’
Ever since Amber has taken to the stand in order to testify against the actor, she has been seen visibly crying.
While this has divided public opinion, on the basis that people have not been convinced over the authenticity of her emotions, one thing that the fans have been convinced about is the premise behind Snapchat’s following filter.
In the video here, we can see a picture of Amber crying with a possible filter being used. The footage then turns to a woman, who is seen crying in a manner similar to Amber.
Despite the constant speculation going around, Snapchat has denied doing anything of the sort. A source told TMZ the following: “There’s simply no truth whatsoever, that the lens is inspired by Amber Heard.”
This statement has been supported by the following reasons. First of all, even though the filter had allegedly come out this month, it is claimed that it had been in the pipeline for around 6 months.
As such, the timeline of events would suggest that Amber was not the muse behind it. In addition, it is also stressed that Snapchat had introduced another filter recently that was a huge smiley face.
Thus, this crying filter was seen as a natural response to the previous one. Nevertheless, the fans on social media were not convinced. People were of the view that the timing of the filter had to be more than coincidental.
Therefore, it was seen as a perfect opportunity to exploit something for clout. One person wrote: “Nice try. Amber’s PR firm put you up to this? It’s her and we all know it.”
Amber is certainly the talk of the town, but unfortunately for her, it appears to be for all the wrong reasons. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
