How Jessica Simpson Lost 100 Pounds – Special Diet Tricks, Plastic Surgery or Plain Hard Work?
Jessica Simpson has been happy to show off her newly slimmed-down physique every chance she gets. The subject of the pop-singer-turned-fashion-mogul’s weight has been a point of contention for most of her career. Ever since Jessica debuted her fit frame many have wondered if special diet tricks, plastic surgery, or just plain hard work were behind her impressive 100 pound weight loss. The correct answer is all three!
In April Jessica posted a bikini-clad selfie to Instagram along with the caption, “I have gained and lost 100lbs 3x, so I never thought this moment could or would happen, but I’m finally spring breakin’ wearin’ a BIKINI!!!!!! Hard work, Determination, Self Love. I enjoyed a good proud cry today.”
Any celebrity will quickly credit diet and exercise as the driving forces behind their desirable bodies, and Jessica is no exception. Jessica teamed up with personal trainer Harley Pasternak to whip her body back into shape.
Jessica committed to a minimum of three 45-minute gym sessions per week with the guidance of Pasternak and trainer Sydney Liebes, who said “You have worked your ass off and the reward is priceless. I’ve been training for 10 years now and I have never been more excited for a client transformation,” in regards to Jessica’s body makeover. Jessica also would walk up to 14,000 steps per day in order to burn fat.
Special diet tricks also played a part in Simpson’s weight loss success story. Jessica reportedly ate three specially curated meals and two snacks per day from The Body Reset Diet. She also made sure to get at least 7 hours of sleep per night.
“So many people undervalue the importance of sleep in weight loss and weight management,” Pasternak explained. Jessica also landed a lucrative deal with Weight Watchers in 2012 that paid her $3 million to trim her waistline. It’s safe to assume that Jessica used some of the tips and tricks she learned in the WW program to drop unwanted pounds.
Last but certainly not least, plastic surgery also contributed to Jessica Simpson’s stellar figure. Jessica revealed in her memoir Open Book that she underwent two tummy tuck procedures in 2015. After her pregnancies, Jessica admitted that she was “so ashamed of my body at this point that I wouldn’t let [my husband] Eric see me without a white T-shirt on”. Jessica said that she “even showered with it on” and revealed in her book, “I couldn’t bear to look at myself.”
After not being satisfied with the results of her first tummy tuck, she scheduled another one only two months later. “I still had loose skin that hung over my pants,” she said.
While Jessica insists that her elective surgeries weren’t for weight loss, her twin tummy tucks played a large role in her overall appearance. “I wanted to get rid of the stretch marks and loose skin left sagging from my back-to-back pregnancies.”
