El Desperado is a firm main event name in the B-Block this year, and so far has been able to maintain a perfect record with wins over TJP & Titán. However tonight, he faces a very hungry Wheeler Yuta – who is rolling after a win over Suzuki-gun member DOUKI.
Desperado originally looked at Yuta as an overhyped Young Lion who got beat up by Jon Moxley, but knows to respect him after trading blows in a recent six man tag team match. Now, they clash in a first time ever singles meeting – and tonight’s main event match.
El Desperado Shows Wheeler Yuta What A NJPW Main Event Feels Like
Yuta would kick this match off with the Pure Wrestling that has made him ROH Pure Champion, able to outwork and take Desperado to the mat. Desperado fought back to his feet, and was taken back down with a quick set of arm drags. Body slam and jumping senton would follow, before Desperado would hit a few back elbow smashes.
He’d send Yuta to the apron, and hit the dropkick to the knee as Yuta tried to get back into the ring. The leg would be slammed off the apron, before the head of Yuta met the steel of the ring post. Desperado would wrap the leg of Yuta around the ring post, before stomping on it in the middle of the ring.
Yuta would fire back with an enziguri, before the diving crossbody for a near fall. Desperado would block the slam before hitting the dragon screw and applying Numero Dos. Yuta would find the ropes, before almost being hit with Guitarra de Angel. Instead, Desperado would go for the Numero Dos, only to be countered into an armbar.
Winning The Match In Dominant Fashion
Yuta moved into a Cattle Mutilation but was unable to really put the weight onto the hurt leg to bridge the hold effectively. Desperado got the bottom rope, before Yuta would be planted with a spinebuster and Guitarra de Angel.
Both men traded forearm blows in the middle of the ring, before Yuta would uppercut the arm. Desperado responded with a kick and dragon screw to the hurt leg. Numero Dos was blocked into a roll up, before Painthriller for the near fall.
Hammer & Anvil elbow smashes would set up Seatbelt Pin. Desperado blocked and looked for Pinche Loco, planting Yuta face first. A second Pinche Loco would fail, before Seatbelt Pin got two. Yuta would get Pinche Loco a second time, and this one was over.
