Tiger Mask IV might not be involved in the tournament at his age, but still is finding is way onto the card. Tonight, he looks to lead young Yuto Nakashima to victory, as they face Ryohei Oiwa & Kosei Fujita.
Tiger Mask Is A Back To Back BOSJ Winner Much Like Hiromu Takahashi
Nakashima & Oiwa would kick things off with some grappling. An armbar attempt would get some damage in before a tag to Fujita, who looked to apply a double wrist lock. Nakashima was able to break free, before tagging in Tiger Mask IV. His kicking skills are why he was a back to back winner in 2004 & 2005, and almost made the threepeat happen in 2006 – when he made the finals. In 2006, he fell to Minoru Tanaka.
Oiwa was not a fan getting kicked into the corner, so Tiger Mask moved to a camel clutch. Nakashima got the tag and alongside Tiger Mask, hit a double shoulder tackle. Fujita would get the tag and hit some dropkicks, before a big belly to belly suplex.
A butterfly suplex set up a double wrist lock from Tiger Mask, with Oiwa making the save. Nakashima took out Oiwa on the floor, and there was no one to break up the pinfall from the Tiger Driver – and this one was over.
Master Wato Needs To Rely On His Best Trick
BULLET CLUB have had a good start to their tournament, with El Phantasmo & Taiji Ishimori claiming their first wins. ELP has Master Wato up next, so tonight meets him in six man tag team action. Gedo & Dick Togo will back him up, while Wato brings his mentor Hiroyoshi Tenzan, and the man Gedo recently stabbed in the back – Jado.
Wato would start alongside Gedo, who would hide in the ropes to get things started. ELP would consider the tag, before noticing he has a hangnail and tagging in Dick Togo. He would sort out his issue, and Wato just tagged in Tezan to get things started. Gedo would hit a cheap shot from behind, but punching him in the head just hurts yourself.
He’d hit some Sendai Sledges, before Togo raked his eyes. Tenzan would respond with a brainbuster for a two count. Jado got the tag, but was dropped with the right hand of Togo. Some back rakes would follow, including a diving variant from ELP. Togo followed suit, before Jado would fire up. He’d take the punches of Togo, and fired back with a shoulder tackle.
ELP & Wato finally met in the ring, with ELP spinning him down with the UFO. Gedo took advantage with a thrust kick, before Wato applied Vendaval for a verbal submission victory. He can apply that hold from any angle, and might learn to rely on it for tournament success.
Wheeler Yuta Claims Pinfall Victory
Wheeler Yuta dropped his first tournament match to Robbie Eagles, but there are no hard feelings. They team up tonight, with Titán rounding out a trio – as they take on Suzuki-gun. El Desperado, DOUKI & TAKA Michinoku are their opponents tonight, with Desperado having defeated Titán in their tournament match, while Yuta will soon face DOUKI.
Titán teased a chop only to nail Desperado with a spin kick. DOUKI tried to yank him down to the floor, before Titán kicked him to the floor instead. Eagles & Titán would work together to take down Desperado. Eagles would be dropped with a shoulder tackle, before Desperado took this one to the floor for a quick brawl.
Michinoku and DOUKI would take turns abusing Eagles, who were able to complete the tag to Yuta. He’d nail a dropkick and stalling lariat in the corner, before a diving forearm smash. The backdrop driver would see DOUKI land on his head, before Michinoku would come in and poke the eyes.
Just Face Lock was attempted, but Eagles made the save. Yuta hit the Hammer & Anvil elbow strikes, before the Seatbelt Clutch allowed for the pinfall victory.
