Welcome to the recap of some of the various WWE shows that get lost in the shuffle! There were no reported dark matches this week, so NXT UK is joining the mix this time around. We’ll have all the results from Main Event, 205 Live and NXT UK all in one post, so you don’t miss a thing!
NXT UK Replays The Incredible Ilja Dragunov vs. WALTER Match
Kicking off with NXT UK, we have two weeks of coverage to get through here – due to how packed this past weekend was. Last week saw acton kicking off with Dave Mastiff & Jack Starz teaming up to defeat Andy Wild & Dan Moloney. Emilia McKenzie would defeat Amale in Women’s division action, and Teoman defeated Nathan Frazer to move on in the Heritage Cup Tournament.
This week’s episode was a shorter one in terms of new content, with the NXT Championship match between WALTER & Ilja Dragunov from NXT Takeover 36 being shown in full. This is not a bad thing, as that match was absolutely incredible – perhaps the best of WWE this entire year. Seriously, if you haven’t watched it – be sure to watch it when you have a moment.
The other matches on this episode started when Wolfgang would defeat Sam Gradwell to move on in the Heritage Cup Tournament. There was also a trios match, as Ashton Smith, Oliver Carter & Saxon Huxley join forces to defeat Symbiosis. This was likely late in the tapings for NXT UK, and hopefully next time around they can have a crowd again.
Why Is Ricochet Stuck On WWE Main Event?
WWE Main Event this week saw two matches, like always. Kicking things off was Ricochet taking on Cedric Alexander. Why this match is on Main Event and not Monday Night RAW is beyond me, as these are two of their best young talents, and some high flying action is something fans always enjoy. Ricochet would get the win after nine minutes. The Main Event of Main Event was Doudrop vs. Dana Brooke, with Doudrop winning in exactly five minutes.
Meanwhile, 205 Live this week featured a single Cruiserweight. Trey Baxter teamed up with Odyssey Jones in a winning effort against the team of Joe Gacy & Josh Briggs. Gacy & Briggs as a tag team really works in a way that they didn’t work as singles names, so we will see where they go as NXT rebrands. We’d also see Katrina Cortez take on Valentina Feroz, with Feroz getting a big victory.
