Wes Lee is trying to figure things out as a singles star in WWE, following the release of his tag team partner. He recently went toe to toe with Xyon Quinn in a losing effort. However, tonight he gets a second chance – and intends to show he doesn’t only have skills in the tag team division. But after Xyon Quinn was not medically cleared – this match was cancelled. Nathan Frazer would call for a match, and Lee was given a bigger challenge for tonight.
Von Wagner Crashes A Dream Match – Sanga Offers Support
These two would kick things off with some chain wrestling, with Frazer grabbing a near fall. Lee would toss some kicks, but Frazer was able to dodge. Frazer tossed a superkick, before being sent to the apron. A stun gun would do some damage, before a stalling German Suplex.
Frazer would look for a superplex, but Lee was able to counter into a crossbody. Lee was nearly set up for a Phoenix Splash after a boot to the face, but Frazer failed to connect. Just as this match was getting good, Von Wagner would rush the ring.
He’d take out both men, including tossing Lee from the ring onto the announce desk. In the back, Sanga would offer some aid – saying that two men their size might not be able to beat someone like Von Wagner. Lee took offence, and instead booked a match for next week.
Santos Escobar Lies, Cheats, and Steals
They’ve tried talking it out like men, but Santos Escobar & Tony D’Angelo have some serious issues backstage. Tonight, they will solve their issues in the ring – as they clash in their first time ever singles match. Escobar is more defined on the brand – but D’Angelo has recently defeated Tommaso Ciampa. It’s going to be a hard fight – but whoever wins might have the run of the brand.
After telling their crews to stay in the back, these two would start their brawl in the back. D’Angelo would hit a double leg takedown, before hitting some heavy blows. The running neckbreaker would do some extra damage to Escobar, before some slugging blows. D’Angelo was sent to the floor, but blocked the dive.
A running hurricanrana would almost take D’Angelo would, but he’d hold his ground and hit a powerbomb. Reverse DDT would follow, but Escobar refused to give in. He’d nail a set of dropkicks, before nailing the Arrow From The Depths of Hell! D’Angelo was hit with a senton from over the top rope, and Escobar would follow up with an armlock.
D’Angelo was able to fight back with a belly to belly suplex, before being taken down with a super hurricanrana. Neither man was doing good after that fall, but D’Angelo would look around for his crowbar. Wilde & Mendoza had stolen it, and Escobar took advantage of the distraction to use a set of brass knuckles for the KO punch.
