Ethan Page is looking to take advantage of a banged up Orange Cassidy for the sake of an easy victory here tonight on AEW Dynamite. The match with Will Ospreay over the IWGP United States Championship was a brutal one, while Page hasn’t wrestled over the past week. A victory over Orange Cassidy would help to boost the status of Page, and could even put him in line for a title shot.
Orange Cassidy Bodyslams Ethan Page
Hitting the ring to Jane by Jefferson Starship, Orange Cassidy would be reunited with his old theme song from the indies. He was joined by Trent & Chuck Taylor, with Chuck returning after an absence due to injury. Dan Lambert would insist they get sent to the back, stacking the deck for Page.
Bell would ring, and Page wasted some time taunting. OC would be tossed to the mat and walked on, but would easily pop up to his feet. Dropkick would land, before a diving crossbody for a two count. Page would ram OC down with the shoulder tackle, before a deadlift suplex.
OC would get a roll up for a two count, before taking a big boot to the face. He’d roll to the outside where Dan Lambert would berate him, before Page hit some heavy forearm smashes. Page would stomp OC out, before some more forearm smashes and a running back elbow.
Some shoulder thrusts and a backbreaker would follow, before OC picked the pace up. He’d take the roundhouse kick and a brainbuster, but was able to kick out at two. Ego’s Edge was set, but OC would fight free. Lambert would grab the boot of OC, allowing Page to hit a press powerslam.
Stundog Millionaire would land for OC, before he’d try to bodyslam Page. Instead, he’d hit the spinning DDT – before calling for the Orange Punch. Lambert again ran a distraction. Orange Punch would land, and a bodyslam would land for the win!
Christian Cage Has Turned Luchasarus
Christian Cage has really shown his true colours lately in AEW, having turned on Jungle Boy. Recently in a promo, he’d even trash the late father of Jungle Boy – before potentially getting into the head of Luchasaurus. Now tonight as part of Blood & Guts, Christian Cage is being given more mic time – and will likely look to further tear into Jungle Boy.
Joined by Tony Schiavone, Christian Cage had a hard time even speaking – and was told to apologise by upper management. Specifically about the comments about Luke Perry. Christian would apologise that Jungle Boy’s whole family isn’t dead – and had to watch him be beaten half to death with a steel chair.
Christian Cage would have requested a match this week – but it wasn’t for him. Instead, he’s pulled Luchasaurus over to the darkside. He’d hit the ring for a match with Serpentico, and a headbutt would all but end it instantly. Wheelbarrow Suplex would follow, a slam to the mat and a Snaretrap would be applied – and this one was over.
What will Jungle Boy do upon his return? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
