Just over one year ago, Ethan Page made the jump from Impact Wrestling to All Elite Wrestling. This was seemingly to help him split off from Josh Alexander and become a singles star – but Page would quickly align himself with Scorpio Sky. We already know that Sky is sticking around in AEW for a few years, and now Page will likewise be sticking around.
Ethan Page Is Going Nowhere
In what was first reported from Fightful Select, Ethan Page has signed a contract extension with AEW. It’s clear that he’s valued in the company, and has been called a potential main event star by the likes of Jim Ross. Many have assumed that Page’s original AEW contract was for a single year, and he proved his worth over that year.
Page has been in many big matches as part of Men of The Year and American Top Team – clashing with the likes of Christian Cage, Sting and Darby Allin. Right now, his goal in AEW seems to be to keep the TNT Championship on Scorpio Sky – but fans hope to see him hold this championship before long.
AEW Fans Hope To See Page Break Out On His Own
Over the past year, fans have really taken to Page – and have started to view him as a total package. He’s got classic good looks, some incredible in-ring skills, and undeniable charisma. There is even a hope that he will break off from American Top Team – perhaps even being the one to take the TNT Championship from his tag team partner.
Page has really been viewed as a tag team specialist since his time with Josh Alexander in ‘The North’ got him some spotlight. This is what he came to AEW to escape, and there is still a lot of time for Page to escape this mould. He’s just a signature victory or two away from standing out as a singles name, but it’s only going to get harder as more and more names join the roster.
