CM Punk had a broken foot, and AEW is naming an Interim AEW World Champion while he recovers from his coming surgery. Tonight in the main event, Jon Moxley will face the last man standing in the annual Casino Battle Royale – with the winner of that match moving onto Forbidden Door to claim the Interim title. Talent will come out 5 at a time, with a Joker to likely appear at the end.
The Ring Starts To Fill With The Stars Of AEW
Darby Allin, Tony Nese, Lance Archer, Daniel Garcia, and Eddie Kingston would start this match off. Kingston went right after Garcia like expected, and everyone gave them space to fight it out. They’d trade open palm strikes, before a double down. Allin would head outside to grab his skateboard, as Nese would get chokeslammed.
Archer would take the skateboard to the back of the knee, before going through the middle rope – and Allin would follow with a dive. Kingston & Allin would square off, and Kingston would take him down in seconds. The next set of wrestlers arrived, with Ricky Starks leading the pack. Allin would hit him with the Code Red, as Jake Hager & Rey Fenix hit the ring.
Swerve Strickland & Keith Lee would be also in, and as a tag team would work together. Fenix would nearly have Garcia out of the ring, as Nese was hit the Swerve in Our Glory combo strike. Swerve & Nese would battle on the apron, and Lee would eliminate Nese. Lee would stand off with Archer and exchange blows before Lee would send Archer from the ring with a powerbomb.
The next set of entrants hit the ring, with John Silver, Konosuke Takeshita, Max Caster, Austin & Colton Gunn all entering the match. Swerve would almost eliminate Silver, as Takeshita punched away at Lee. Powerhouse Hobbs, reDRagon, Dante Martin and a returning Wheeler Yuta.
And Kyle O’Reilly Is The Only Man Left Standing
Caster & The Assboys would waste time taunting, before Caster was kicked from the ring by Fenix. Lee would send AssBoys from the ring, before Swerve would eliminate his partner. All’s fair and love and war. The joker would be Andrade El Idolo, who went right after Darby Allin and Swerve.
Eddie Kingston & Daniel Garica took each other out, with Jake Hager & John Silver also being sent out of the ring. Hager & Garcia would stomp Kingston on the floor, as Takeshita landed a Blue Thunder Bomb on Starks. Hobbs & Takeshita would exchange blows, and Takeshita would end up getting eliminated. Fenix would go for a kick on Starks who dodged with a taunt before being eliminated. Andrade caught a coffin splash before Swerve would help to beat Andrade down. Bobby Fish threw some kicks before taking a dropkick, and Kyle O’Reilly took a major backbreaker.
Fish & Allin would be taken out of the match by Swerve, before Andrade kicked him out. Five men remained, with Fenix hitting the DDT into an arm drag into a stomp on Andrade. Yuta would send Hobbs from the match, before O’Reilly & Andrade teamed up on him.
Andrade would kick Fenix from the sky, before taking a Hook Kick. Fenix got low blowed before being thrown out, leaving Andrade, O’Reilly & Yuta. Andrade was sent out, before Yuta would be taken over the top rope. O’Reilly & Yuta clashed on the apron, but O’Reilly was kicked into the ring. Dragon Screw and boot would take Yuta out of the ring!
