While industry politics might have barred both Andrade El Idolo & Rey Fenix from competing at Forbidden Door, they still have a chance to steal the show. These two top luchadores will look to steal the show tonight on AEW Rampage instead. It’s a battle of pride, and another chance for Rey Fenix to show that he’s 100% following recent injuries. Add in Andrade eliminating Fenix from a recent Battle Royale, and there’s plenty of bad blood to make this an intense fight.
Rey Fenix Defys Gravity, Physics, and Logic
Andrade would start things with a simple wrist lock, before picking up the pace as he ran the ropes and leapfrogged around. Fenix would hit a springboard hurricanrana, and land on his feet – but Andrade came back with one of his own. A boot to the jaw would stun Fenix, but Andrade would take a kick to the midsection in response before the rewind back heel kick.
Fenix would look for the Samoan Driver, but Andrade slipped free before hitting the three amigos. He’d get two, before Fenix hit three suplexes of his own. Andrade would roll to the floor, but you’re safe nowhere with Fenix – who would launch himself off the top rope onto Andrade.
A crossbody in the ring would miss, with Andrade looking for the German Suplex. Instead, Fenix would spike Andrade with the German Suplex for the two count. Fenix went to the top rope, where Andrade would shove him off to the floor.
Back in the ring, Andrade nailed a body slam, before moving to the top rope. Fenix tried to stop him, but instead took a double stomp to the chest. Andrade got the two count, before Fenix hit a springboard dropkick to the face before spiking Andrade with the cutter.
Andrade El Idolo Gets Some Aid
A frog splash would just meet the knees of Andrade, before Fenix would get crotched on the top rope. Andrade would go for the double knee strike, before crashing into the ring post instead. Fenix hit the double stomp to the neck, before rolling Andrade back into the ring.
Swanton Bomb would get nothing but canvas, as Andrade rolled to safety. Fenix was pulled out to the floor, and driven into the barricade. Quick commercial break came nad went, before Fenix hit a super reverse spanish fly. Andrade would just get his foot on the bottom rope.
Andrade would get passed the tablet of Jose, but referee Aubrey Edwards stopped the attack. A low blow was blocked, but the eye poke was not. Hook Kick off the ropes would be blocked with the basement dropkick, but Andrade couldn’t apply the Figure Four.
This one went to the floor, and a brawl between Jose & Alex Abernates in the ring would distract as RUSH came to the ring. Low blow would land, and Andrade followed with the El Idolo DDT, and this one was over! La Faccion Ingobernable shirts were revealed.
