Wardlow is very close to being done with the previous stage of his career. He’s gotten away from MJF, but during the build to their match at Double or Nothing – he’d be commonly mauling security guards. Now, those guards have gone to Wrestling’s Best Lawyer with Smart Mark Sterling – and Wardlow was given two choices. Either take this to court, or to the ring in a 20 vs. 1 elimination handicap match. Wardlow chose to fight twenty men, and is expected to hit at least twenty powerbombs here tonight.
Wardlow Celebrates With Some UFC Greats After Beating 20 Men In A Single Match
The guards would be scared to get into the match with Wardlow, and four were sent from the ring for eliminations. Wardlow would hit a powerbomb out of the ring to eliminate another, after everyone swarmed him. Plaintiffs charged him, as he submitted one while spinning another. Wardlow stacked five of them after spinebusters for a mass elimination, before some powerbombs.
Three more got stacked and pinned, before more powerbombs and spinebusters. Wardlow was not even looking blown up as he overpowered four more. Possibly a new record for post powerbombs in a Wardlow match, as they kept coming. One went to the top rope, and was caught and powerbombed onto the pile. Everyone was done, and Wardlow won.
After the match, Dan Lambert & Scorpio Sky would chime in – and said that American Top Team might be after him. Matt Hughs & Tyron Woodley would hit the ring, two UFC legends. Wardlow would appeal to their sense to not listen to some rich asshole hiding in the skybox, as they’re cut from the same cloth. But if they want to fight – he’s game. Woodley shoved Sterling to a powerbomb.
Will Ospreay Makes Singles Debut On AEW Dynamite
Dax Harwood is becoming no stranger to getting big singles matches, having faced the likes of CM Punk, Adam Cole and Chris Jericho. However tonight, he’s being put against someone who is currently in the conversation for “Best in the World” with Will Ospreay. He clashed with Ospreay last Friday on AEW Rampage in a trios match, with Kyle Fletcher of Aussie Open falling to Trent Beretta – but now, Harwood doesn’t have others to rely on, and tonight just needs to prove that maybe he’s the best in the world, not Ospreay.
These two would lock up before a quick armdrag. There was already duelling chants, before Harwood was sent off the ropes. Ospreay got the step up hurricarana, before some heavy chops in the corner. Dax The Axe would show why that’s his nickname with a major strike, before a big back body drop.
Side headlock takeover would take Ospreay to the mat, but was unable to keep him there. Ospreay would look for a suplex to the floor, before taking some chops from Harwood. He’d go for a suplex, but Ospreay slipped free before shoving Harwood off the apron. Shotgun dropkick would land, sending Harwood crashing into the steel steps.
Dax Harwood Shows He’s Not Just A Tag Team Wrestler
Back in the ring, Ospreay would absorb some chops before sending Harwood crashing into the corner sternum first. Ospreay applied a stretch, but was sent off with a hip toss. Back handspring blast kick from Ospreay was blocked into a trio of German Suplexes. Harwood would go high risk with a diving headbutt, but missed before Ospreay hit a perfect springboard 450 Splash.
Ospreay would go to the top rope, but was cut down with some strikes before Harwood would go for a super backdrop. Harwood would be countered, as Ospreay turned this into a crossbody for a near fall. Ospreay hit a powerbomb, but Harwood blocked into a jackknife pin for a two count. Harwood would slip to the floor, where a vaulting dive was hit.
Back in the ring, a springboard forearm shot to the neck would get a two count. Harwood would look for the slingshot powerbomb, but Ospreay countered. OsCutter was blocked, before the Slingshot Bomb would get a tight near fall. Both men would trade headbutts and uppercuts, before Ospreay hit the hook kick – before being pulled into a massive lariat.
Ospreay would spike Harwood with a big powerbomb, and the OsCutter followed. Hidden Blade would finally end things, with Ospreay coming out on top in an INCREDIBLE match. After the match, United Empire rushed the ring, with Orange Cassidy making his return to confront Ospreay.
