Amber Heard has denied reports that she has been completely removed from starring in ‘Aquaman 2.’
Amber Heard Outraged By Claims She Has Been Axed From ‘Aquaman 2′-From Day One — Inaccurate, Insensitive, And Slightly Insane’
According to reports, Heard was axed from the franchise with Warner Brothers having made the decision to recast her.
This speculation had arrived on the back end of a petition that went viral in the aftermath of her defamation trial loss against Johnny Depp. One such petition had received over 4.5 million signatures.
Although that may have been the case, Heard’s legal team has denied anything of the sought. In fact, they have put it down to the negative publicity that Amber has been getting as a whole.
In a statement given on behalf of Heard, her representative said: “The rumor mill continues as it has from Day One — inaccurate, insensitive, and slightly insane.”
In reality, axing Heard is going to be very difficult for the following reasons. First of all, it is alleged that Amber has already done all of her scenes which were shot around a year ago.
Therefore, the fact that she has already been paid $2 million suggests that both sides have fulfilled their obligations. Secondly, if Amber was removed, the studio could get sued which would see Heard in another court battle.
Lastly, in any event, recasting Heard would push the release date back and bring much disappointment to the fans along the way. Despite those complexities, the fans on social media were not opposed to seeing the back of Heard.
This was on the basis that she was no longer a mainstream star and by having her in the movie, it would simply reduce the demand to see it.
One person wrote: “No Amber, no Aquaman. the movie will flop,” while another person stated: “It’ll flop with her. Guess its a lose, lose at this point.”
Time will tell if Amber can continue to survive the brunt of public opinion. The next few months could define her career. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
