Following the defamation trial against ex-husband, Johnny Depp, Amber Heard was asked to pay a sum of $10 million in damages to him. Although, it is not certain yet if the Pirates of the Caribbean actor would ask his ex-wife to pay in full, Amber Heard has allegedly been taking steps to make money.
Firstly, the actress admitted that she believes her Hollywood career to be over based on the result of the trial where the jury’s verdict stated that Depp won all counts against Heard in the trial. Amber also admitted that she could not afford the $8.3 million in damages that she was owing Depp and because she “has nothing to lose,” a number of people believe she would go through whatever means to pay the money.
Amber Heard Is Set To ‘Write A Tell-all Book’ After Going ‘Broke’ From $8M Defamation Loss To Ex-husband, Johnny Depp
There have been rumors going around that the Aquaman actress is planning to write a Tell-All book about the situation in order to make money to help pay what she owes Depp. An insider told OK! Magazine that Amber considers her career in Hollywood over. “She’s already in talks and is excited about it. At this point, she has nothing to lose and wants to tell all.”
Johnny Depp’s lawyers hinted that it is possible that the actor would overlook Amber’s debt to him as he already achieved exactly what he wanted from the trial which is to put the truth out about how things played out and to also restore his reputation and that of those who have no choice but to be around him. He made this clear when he responded to the jury’s verdict by saying expressly that they gave him his life back.
If Depp decided not to enforce the debt, it’s certain that Amber would be relieved as it has been said that the 36-year-old actress was “broke.” Also recently, she was seen dressed in simple clothes (not as glamorous as she would usually dress.) Amber Heard and her sister, Whitney Henriquez were seen at a retail store where they were allegedly bargain shopping.
While Amber has stated that she wanted to be rid of the trial and the aftermath, many believe that she would face another defamation trial especially if she goes ahead with her Tell-All book since she has expressly stated that in whatever instance, she would stand by all she said during the trial. Also, Amber had released notes by her therapist which documented details of violence as far back as 2011 when the relationship between Depp and Heard started.
Even though the Judge in the trial case had dismissed the notes stating that it was “hearsay” and even barred it from being submitted as evidence, Amber released it to NBC’s Dateline. Following the interview with Savannah Guthrie, where the notes were released, Amber faced a lot of criticism from the public.
The Today’s show also took a hit as they received some backlash for “giving credit to a manipulative piece of s**t like Heard,” a person said. A Twitter user also said, “Nobody believes her Savannah. Give it up and stop interviewing abusers,” in response to the interview.
