Johnny Depp Performs With Jeff Beck, Moves On From Amber Heard Defamation Trial

59-year-old actor, Johnny Depp performed with his musical partner, Jeff Beck on Sunday, June, 19, 2022 at the Helsinki Blues Festival, as a close source tells PEOPLE that he has “moved on” from his defamation trial against actress, ex-wife Amber Heard. “The trial was necessary, but he is happy that it’s over,” the source said. “Although he is relieved about the jury’s verdict, he isn’t gloating about it.”

Johnny Depp Has Moved On From Amber Heard And Her Drama

Earlier this month, Pirates Of The Caribbean actor, Johnny Depp, won all three defamation claims in his case against ex-wife, Amber Heard over her 2018 op-ed about being a survivor of domestic abuse. The jury awarded Depp $15 million in damages but the Aquaman actress, will only have to pay $10.35 million to him due to Virginia law capping punitive damages.

Also, the seven-person jury awarded the actress $2 million in damages for her counterclaims against her ex-husband. “He isn’t even talking about the trial now,” the insider says. “He filed the lawsuit, because he considered it necessary. He has moved on though. He is now able to get back to what he loves doing. He enjoys performing and has a busy summer ahead.

He is also looking forward to continue working. He just wants his career back. He loves filming.” Johnny and his fans celebrated the win, with Pirates franchise star saying that the “jury gave me my life back” in a statement. Meanwhile, Amber said that the decision was a “setback” for women; her lawyer, Elaine Bredehoft also said that she plans to appeal the verdict.

Johnny Depp And Partner Set To Release An Album

On June 9, Johnny Depp and his partner, Jeff Beck announced their upcoming album, titled 18, which is set to be released on July 15.  “It’s an extraordinary honor to play and write music with Jeff, one of the true greats and someone I am now privileged enough to call my brother,” the Sweeney Todd actor said in a release. They have also released an official music video for their first single off the new album, titled “This is a Song for Miss Hedy Lamarr.”

“I haven’t had another creative partner like him for ages,” Jeff said about Johnny in the release. “He was a major force on this record.” He went on to say, “I just hope people will take him seriously as a musician because it’s a hard thing for some people to accept that Johnny Depp can sing rock and roll.”
