The defamation lawsuit between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard is finally over. As you most probably know, Johnny Depp comes out of it as a winner. After the 6-week lawsuit, the actor proves that he is not the ‘beast’ that Amber portrays him to be. Furthermore, he manages to prove quite the opposite.
On the day when the verdict is reached, Amber Heard, Johnny’s ex-spouse, is ordered to pay her ex-husband $15 million. Although the judge already reduces this to $10 million, rumors state that the actress is already broke and she doesn’t have the money to pay off her debt.
Johnny Depp Doesn’t Want The $10 Million From Amber Heard – Might Waive The Debt
As a consequence of this, Johnny Depp might turn out to be a true gentleman and even waive the debt. If you are one of those people acting aggressively on this, and you say that she doesn’t deserve this think again.
Depp’s lawyers, the widely popular Camille Vasquez and her partner Benjamin Chew make an appearance on several shows during this past period and introduce some statements on the matter.
“We obviously can’t disclose attorney-client communications. But, as Depp testified, and as we both made clear in our respective closings, this was never about money for Depp. This is about restoring his reputation. And he did that.” – Benjamin says.
“It is like the weight of the world is off his shoulders and I feel that finally after six years he’s got his life back.” – he adds.
Camille shares her view on the topic as well. She also claims that Depp is really glad that this is over. Depp is glad that he somehow manages to prove to the world that he is not a beast. But a loving father instead.
“He has an opportunity to speak the truth for the first time. It lasts for six years in the making. I think he is able to connect with the jury and the general public and tell what really happens in this relationship. The facts, in this case, were overwhelmingly positive for Johnny and the verdict speaks for itself. The facts are what they were. The jury makes a unanimous decision basing on those facts.” – Camile states.
However, this is not left without a counter reply by the lawyer team of the opposition. Amber Heard’s lawyer team criticizes these TV appearances and reacts aggressively to the claims they make.
“It is as unseemly as it is unprofessional that Johnny Depp’s legal team choses to do a victory lap for setting back decades of how you can treat women in the courtroom.” – they say.
They even jokingly comment on this asking that maybe the goodwill of the actor will not end here. They ask if maybe he will propose a movie role to his ex-wife.
