Finally, after the lengthy six weeks, the judge and jury are ready to present the verdict. As everyone would expect, both stakeholders should be present to hear the verdict. However, this time one thing is missing. Depp is not in the courtroom to receive the final address of the judge and jury.
In those six long weeks, the jury saw and heard numerous witnesses, audio recordings, and examinations of evidence and after this long period, they had to take their time to elaborate on their decision. At the last court meeting, the judge reminds the jury that their decision needs to be unanimous.
Where Was Johnny Depp During The Verdict Deliverance? – Why Wasn’t He Present At The Court?
All have to reach the same decision in order for a verdict to be delivered. Even though this sounds easy, it is really difficult. Seven people with seven different opinions forming one single stance on a matter like this… not the easiest job.
It is not an easy job, but finally, the jury decides on a verdict. The decision comes on Wednesday, and the jury chooses to believe Depp. However, even though this is the most significant event in his recent past, Depp chooses to not be present at the court for its delivery.
Rumors state that he is not present because despite the outcome he felt like he already proved what he wanted to prove. Others state that he didn’t want to face Amber if the jury decides in her favor. However, the truth, according to sources close to the actor is totally different.
He is not present due to an unpostponable ‘work commitment’.
“Due to previously scheduled work commitments that were made prior to the trial, Mr. Depp will not be physically present for today’s 3:00 p.m. verdict and will be watching from the UK.” – the source close to the actor states.
Depp leaves victorious and doesn’t comment on the matter. While Amber complains as according to her “The outcome sets back the idea that violence against women is something serious.”
Many celebrities are closely following the trial. Many of them choose not to express their siding on the matter, however, many choose to show their support for one, or the other of the ex-spouses.
“Any woman who chooses to behave like a full human being shouldreceive a warning. The armies of the status quo will treat her as something of a dirty joke . . . She will need her sisterhood.” – Amy Schumer, a comedian, chooses to side with Amber.
“Wow, it wasn’t what I was expecting. I mean, I wanted Johnny to win but I didn’t expect him to.” – Sharon Osbourne expresses her support for Johnny.
