Prince Harry has been seen looking worried as he returned to California with his spouse, Meghan Markle, and their two kids. The royal couple touched down in the United States in the early hours of today, Monday, June 6, 2022.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex departed the United Kingdom with no fanfare, after they turned up for just a single major event at the platinum festivities. The couple were greeted recently with a mix of cheers and boos as they left St. Paul’s Cathedral on Friday, June 3rd, 2022, after the Thanksgiving service.
Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Left The UK Earlier Than Expected
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly organized a private birthday party for Princess Lilibet, their only daughter, who turned one on Saturday, June 4, 2022. It is understood that the couple skipped the platinum pageant that was held on Sunday, June 5th, 2022, to board their return flight to the States with their children.
The Pageant was one of the major events that were held over the bank holiday. The Trooping the Colour event, the Platinum Thanksgiving service, and the Epsom Derby are other major events that also took place over the weekend.
The Sussexes reportedly left for the US from Frogmore Cottage, where they stayed throughout the platinum. Some media houses have even claimed that the couple’s surprise premature departure from the United Kingdom was an indication that all is not well between them and other members of the royal family. It is believed that the couple spent over £150,000 on transport expenses to the UK.
The Sussexes, on the other hand, would be relieved that Queen Elizabeth finally got to meet her now one-year-old great granddaughter, Lilibet, before they left In spite of fact that Prince Harry is still the sixth-in-line to the throne, the Duke did not receive any special honour during his visit. The Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were made to sit in the second row in St Paul’s Cathedral, after the Wessexes.
It is understood that the arrangement was made because the couple are no longer working royals. However, royal expert Ingrid Seward believes that the seating arrangement was a bitter pill for the prince to swallow and might one of those things that prompted his early departure.
