Since returning from injury earlier this year, RUSH has not lost a match. He’s got a 10-0 record, and following his victory over Dragon Lee at ROH Death Before Dishonor – he’d be announced to face Jon Moxley for the AEW Interim World Championship. These are two men who have never crossed paths in professional wrestling before tonight – and should go all out in the ring.
RUSH Starts Fast
RUSH would attack Moxley as he was getting into the ring, hitting a shotgun dropkick, and driving Moxley into the corner. Moxley would be rolled into the ring, before being kicked into the corner. RUSH almost already had Bull’s Horns set up – but would go for some rushing lariats instead.
He’d bite the head of Moxley, before heading back to the floor and slamming his face off a steel chair. RUSH would taste the blood of Moxley, before breaking the referee’s count. Moxley would regain his footing, quickly getting into the ring before a suicide dive to the floor.
RUSH would take some heavy chops, before a snap suplex on the floor. He’d get RUSH into the corner, before stomping right on the head. Both men would trade heavy chops in the middle of the ring – before RUSH hit a superkick and snap powerslam for a two count. On the floor, RUSH would choke Moxley with the camera cables – a move fans saw often during his time as ROH World Champion.
Jon Moxley Chokes RUSH Out
RUSH would tease the Bull’s Horns in the ring – instead just giving a weak kick to the face and taunting. Moxley would show that was a mistake, quickly going into a rear naked choke on RUSH after a slick drop step to get to the back. RUSH would get free, but was sent to the floor and driven into the steel steps.
Back in the ring, RUSH took a Superplex- crashing hard into the ring. King Kong Lariat would rock RUSH, but he’d respond with a German Suplex. Crossface would be applied, but Moxley would fight free before starting to stomp the head of RUSH in.
Moxley would get tossed into the corner with a Belly To Belly Suplex – before RUSH was looking for the superplex. RUSH would get bitten – before Andrade would come to ringside and shove Moxley off the top rope behind the back of the referee. Lucha Brothers would run Andrade off, and back in the ring – Moxley avoided Bull’s Horns – before a Straight Jacket Piledriver.
Moxley would be able to kick out due to coaching from Regal on how to reduce damage from a piledriver, before hitting the Death Rider for a near fall. Bulldog Choke would be applied – and this one was a referee stoppage. Still AEW Interim World Champion – Jon Moxley!
Chris Jericho Wants His Rematch
Following this match, the music of Chris Jericho would hit. Moxley was the one to end his reign as AEW World Champion back in 2020, and Jericho never cashed in his rematch. Angelo Parker would call for the music to be cut, before saying the AEW Galaxy should appreciate them.
Jericho congratulated Moxley on an amazing match, and said he’s on a roll. However, it’s nothing compared to the roll that the J.A.S is on! Tonight, Daniel Garcia is in the main event, and Sammy Gueavra will annihilate Dante Martin with Tay Conti by their side. Hell, they even have Anna Jay on their side – who would turn her back on Dark Order.
Last week, Jericho beat Eddie Kingston in the Barbed Wire Everywhere match – and next he’s gonna beat Moxley. He’s demanding his rematch, in two weeks at Quake By The Lake! Moxley would declare he’s no Interim champion, and the first ever two time AEW World Champion.
He respects Jericho – but his current sports entertainment bullshit is annoying. Jericho can leave all that trash at home – as Moxley wants the Lionheart to emerge. The last survivor of the Hart Dungeon. Moxley wants a goddamn fight.
