In the prime of their careers, they are the role model of what a successful relationship should look like. However, after a decade of being together and several years in marriage, they suddenly divorced and shocked the world.
Now, the complications following every divorce are closing in, and the ex-couple goes through tough times dividing their property.
The ex-couple bought a major part of the Chateau Miraval SA, which is a property consisting of a big mansion-like house and a vineyard. They acquired the property back in 2008, and got married there six years later. Since then, reportedly they have been giving occasional visits to the place with their children. They have spent several family holidays and weekends there.
Brad Pitt Claims Jolie Sold The Vineyard To Do Harm To Him – Angelina Jolie Doubtful Over Brad Pitt’s Claims
Brad Pitt is allegedly suing Angelina Jolie because she sold her ‘piece’ of the vineyard they own together in France. After their divorce in 2016, some of the co-owned properties remained undivided between the two. Allegedly, they had a sort of an agreement not to sell their part in the agreed properties without informing the other of the intention. The vineyard has been a part of these ‘agreed’ properties as well.
According to People magazine, there is a report that Brad Pitt is now suing his ex-wife because she allegedly sold her part without ‘asking permission’. Moreover, he is asking for a trial by jury. However, information leaks from ‘inside’ the legal teams stating that the lawsuit is ‘sending out a false narrative’. They state that the truth of the situation is still not public and that they will reveal it in the following short period, most probably in court.
From Jolie’s side, they claim that she indeed sold her part. However, she decided to do so only after she was unable to return to the property after the divorce. What she did is not simply sold the property. She found a business partner that took over the business, however, she made sure that at a given time, the property would still be inherited by her and Brad’s children.
Shortly after making the statement, Brad Pitt rejected her way of thinking. He states that from his point of view this is totally different.
Pitt is now asking for damages. At the trial the judge and jury will decide on the amount. Furthermore, he requests for annulling of the sale.
According to Brad Pitt’s legal team, the vineyard business has grown into a multimillion-dollar international success. However, for this they state that Pitt should receive the whole merit. Angelina Jolie had contributed nothing to the business. She only made half of the initial investment.
“Through the purported sale, Jolie sought to inflict harm on Pitt.” – the filed documents state. “Jolie knew and intended that Shefler and his affiliates would try to control the business Pitt had built and to undermine Pitt’s investment in Miraval.”
There is still no official comment on the matter from Jolie’s side.
