One of the best new factions in professional wrestling has been the Blackpool Combat Club in AEW. Started with William Regal, Jon Moxley & Bryan Danielson following a match at AEW Revolution between Moxley & Danielson – this faction has since grown to five men. The first man to join up past the faction’s creation was Wheeler Yuta, following a bloody AEW Rampage match with Moxley. However, if things had not worked out the way they did – Yuta wouldn’t have made the group.
Bryan Danielson Feels Wheeler Yuta Stepped Up Huge In BCC – But Almost Didn’t Make It In
While speaking with Barstool Sports’ Robbie Fox – Bryan Danielson would have his chance to speak on the addition of Wheeler Yuta into the faction. He’d be quoted saying the following.
“It’s all just kind of been organic. It wasn’t like we even knew we were going to be a group. When I first wrestled Moxley at the pay per view, it wasn’t like, ‘Okay, now we’re going to form a group.’ We just batted things around and things evolved naturally. Then Wheeler, adding that evolved naturally. Honestly, if it weren’t for a couple of injuries that happened, it might have been somebody else in Wheeler’s spot.
But Wheeler was put into that position and stepped up to the plate huge. He’s been a great addition. I mean, same thing with Claudio. Like if I hadn’t gotten hurt, I don’t know if Claudio would have been in the Blackpool Combat Club per say. But yeah, now, I really like the dynamic.”
Wheeler Yuta Has Been Having The Best Year Of His Career
Since joining Blackpool Combat Club, Yuta would represent the faction in NJPW during the Best of the Super Juniors tournament, fought alongside Moxley & Castagnoli in Blood & Guts, and would defend the ROH Pure Championship against Daniel Garcia at ROH Death Before Dishonor. He’s been having the best year of his career, and remains one of the most promising young talents in all of professional wrestling.
His future remains unclear, but staring down the ROH World Tag Team Champions FTR at the of Death Before Dishonor could be a hint. Teaming with Claudio Castagnoli – the current ROH World Champion, to take on the best tag team in the world today would be huge.
