Last month, 33-year-old Joshua Danehower gunned down his ex’s husband in Fairfax City. The shooting occurred just before 3 AM on June 24, 2022 when Fairfax City Police received a call on the incident.
Joshua Danehower Arrested for the Shooting Death of His Ex-Girlfriend’s Husband Gret Glyer – Charged with Second-Degree Murder
When police arrived at the scene, they found Gret Glyer dead from gunshot wounds. An investigation would reveal that the owner of the DonorSee nonprofit had been shot ten times. In a statement on the arrest, the Fairfax City PD said:
“Investigation revealed that an acquaintance of the family had entered the residence and fired multiple rounds at Mr. Glyer while he was asleep in bed. The investigation also revealed that Mr. Glyer’s wife was asleep at the time of the shooting and was lying in bed next to him. Mr. Glyer’s wife and children were escorted by officers from the home unharmed.”
Joshua Danehower was fingered as a suspect as he was the ex-boyfriend of Glyer’s wife. According to the court documents obtained by WTOP-TV, Danehower “had been regularly reaching out to the victim’s wife, his ex-girlfriend, whom he wanted to reconnect with.”
On June 28, 2022, Danehower was found by the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority—in cooperation with the Arlington PD—at Dulles Airport. An Arlington resident, it was initially believed that Joshua Danehower worked at the airport. He was later booked into the Fairfax County Jail and charged with second-degree murder as well as the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
After his bail hearing, Danehower reportedly asked if he could order a pizza. On the bail form, the judge wrote that the suspect “was not taking the situation seriously in the slightest.”
Joshua Danehower is due back in court on August 16, 2022.
