One of the most divisive names in the history of AEW has to be ‘Mr. Fun Size’ Marko Stunt. Originally a member of the Jurassic Express stable, the 5’2” wrestler was often bashed by fans for being completely unbelievable in the ring due to a lack of size and skill. Despite this, he’d persist in the company for two years – and almost got a chance to work with his favourite wrestler of all time.
Marko Stunt Pitched To Team Up With Paul Wight In AEW
While speaking with NBC Sports The Ten Count, Mark Stunt would reveal the angle he pitched to try and work alongside Paul Wight, fka The Big Show. Stunt would be quoted saying the following.
“There was one with Paul Wight, where me and him talked a bit about doing an angle starting on Dark to see if it gets over… Where I’m getting like beat week after week and bullied and he is on commentary and I’m getting bullied one week and finally he gets tired of it and he throws his headset down and comes down and saves me. This was him pitching it to me actually. Then we can form this best buddy duo and I can be your best friend and play it off so well.”
Marko Stunt Reveals Pitched Angle To Work Alongside Paul Wight In AEW
Marko Stunt was quietly released from AEW in 2021, with his final match in the promotion coming on an episode of AEW Dark in September. There, he lost a tag team match to Shawn Spears & Wardlow, while teaming with Fuego Del Sol.
He last appeared alongside Jurassic Express in April of 2021, teaming with Jungle Boy to defeat Chaos Project. The future of Jurassic Express is currently in doubt, with Luchasarus siding with the recently turned Christian Cage over Jungle Boy. Stunt has recently announced plans to start his own promotion in Memphis, and works with companies like GCW to remain active in the ring.
