Former AEW World Tag Team Champions FTR have had a slow schedule since losing to The Young Bucks. Tonight they’re in action once again, as they clash with Jungle Boy & Marko Stunt of Jurassic Express. Both teams need this win to get one step closer to the AEW World Tag Team Championships, and Jurassic Express really want to just shut FTR up!

Jungle Boy has gained Tarzan Boy as a theme song after Tony Khan bought the rights, and it made it’s Dynamite debut here. In time, we will see this eclipse Judas as the best singalong song in AEW… until Orange Cassidy gets Jane by Jefferson Starship back!

    FTR Bully Marko Stunt

Stunt kicked this one off against Wheeler, and it was clear that he will get outpowered every single time by FTR. He’d have to use his speed, but even that wasn’t much of an edge. Stunt had some fire, and slapped Harwood in the mouth before getting pummeled and hit with a snap suplex. FTR would lift Stunt by the hair and slam him down into the canvas, before nailing him with a chop. Another slap, and Stunt would be rocked with a european uppercut.

Stunt tried for the moonsault press but was caught, only to get the headscissors, and tagged in Jungle Boy. A manhattan drop into an enziguri and some mule kicks from Jurassic Express was followed by Stunt being used as a weapon by Jungle Boy, nailing dives to the outside. A commercial break came and went, and FTR had isolated Stunt after a double flapjack onto the ropes.

Wheeler hit a big spinebuster, and was just having fun beating up Stunt. They would seemingly want to hit Stunt with every single move they know, and that would mean not going for the pinfall. Wheeler applied a Gory Special and Stunt countered into a sunset flip, before slipping away and tagging in Jungle Boy.

Jungle Boy Didn’t Have Enough To Save This Match

Jungle Boy changed the mood of this match with some hard lariats to both members of FTR, before getting the backstabber on Harwood. Harwood was set up on the top rope, and taken down with the hurricanrana. Wheeler went for a suplex, only to take a brainbuster from Jungle Boy. Stunt came back in and was thrown onto Harwood for a one count, before having Sliced Bread countered into a throw. Harwood nailed a huge lariat, nearly taking the head of Stunt off.

Stunt got a sneaky low blow and the Dudley Dog for a near fall, before being attacked by Tully Blanchard and sent into the ring post. Jungle Boy saw this and went after Tully, only to be taken out. In the ring, FTR hit Big Rig (formerly Goodnight Express, but changed to tribute Mr. Brodie Lee) for the win.

You don’t expect much out of a Marko Stunt match, and he did most of the work for Jurassic Express in this match. It was about as good as he’ll ever look, showing just how good FTR are in the ring. Match Rating: 3/5 (***)
