Meghan Markle was snubbed by Emma Watson and repeatedly rejected by Hollywood prior to marrying Prince Harry.
Meghan Markle Was ‘Repeatedly’ Rejected By Hollywood Until She Found The Golden Ticket In Prince Harry
That is according to Royal author Tom Bower in his upcoming book called ‘Meghan, Harry and the war between the Windsor’s.’ Tom alleges that Meghan suffered a setback when it came to making a name for herself in the fashion industry.
The author expanded on how Meghan happened to secure a contract with Reitmans, one of Canada’s biggest female clothing outlets. And yet, it is claimed that Meghan’s dream was to be the face of Ralph Lauren.
So when that did not materialise, Meghan was left disappointed to say the least. In his book, Tom wrote: “No serious Hollywood star, Meghan must have thought, would associate herself with Reitmans, a brand whose clothes cost under C$100.
“She longed to be the face of Ralph Lauren, not Reitmans. At least no one outside Canada would see the campaign.”
But that was not the only setback that Meghan had apparently suffered. The Duchess of Sussex’s attempt to meet Emma Watson had also backfired. In 2014, the star of Harry Potter was in London.
It is suggested that Meghan was at the event too, and once it was over, she had apparently attempted to meet Emma afterwards. While it is not clear what the reason for the snub could have been, it did leave Meghan disappointed nonetheless.
Tom’s following comments confirmed as much: “Hollywood repeatedly rejected her. At the end, she asked to meet Watson. The actress rejected the request. The snub was mortifying.”
Regardless of the disappointments that Meghan may have suffered, there is no denying that she is in a much better place now.
She has managed to forge a life of independence, with Prince Harry, away from the Royal family and had two children in the process.
And that is the legacy that she will be looking towards when it is all said and done. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
