In a big old Minnesota drug-related oops, the Sherburne County Sheriff’s Office arrested Jessica Geraghty and Ricardo Juaregui were arrested after 10 pounds of meth arrived at the wrong address. The meth mix-up happened in late June 2022 when the drugs arrived at an Elk River home in Minnesota.

The homeowner would take the drugs to the police who concocted a plan where the meth was replaced with salt, a tracker, and an alarm before giving it to apartment management. During that time, Geraghty—who was supposed to retrieve the package—had been asking apartment management about her missing package.
When she received the fake package, the Sherburne Sheriffs were watching and swooped in for the arrest. Ricardo Juaregui was scooped up in the arrest after she gave the package to him. According to WCCO in Minneapolis, Geraghty and Juaregui met on a dating site a month earlier. Honestly, that’s a bit of a leap in a relationship to go from getting to know each other to participating in drug selling.
In their search, law enforcement found marijuana in Geraghty’s room. The two were booked into the Sherburne County Jail and charged with first-degree possession of a controlled substance. More charges could be pending as the postal service was used in the transport of the drugs.
Both Jessica Geraghty and Ricardo Juaregui are to appear in court on July 5, 2022.
