United Empire has dreams of winning each of their blocks, and ensure an all UE finals this year. Aaron Henare has a chance to move to four points later tonight, but Jeff Cobb, Great-O-Khan & Will Ospreay are in trios action against familiar foes with House of Torture.
Will Ospreay has had his focus yanked elsewhere by Kenny Omega, who he’s been feuding with on social media. Recently, Omega would place a Cease & Desist order on a shirt Ospreay looked to sell on ProWrestlingTees – which had the phrase One Winged Angel on it. Could this be all part of a bigger plan, as Omega helps out his old faction of BULLET CLUB?
United Empire Just Needed Dick Togo Alone – Will Dominate The G1 Climax
Togo would look to start with Cobb, and would be ready to honestly fight Cobb – only to be laughed at by the United Empire. Test of Strength would see Cobb play with Togo, before House of Torture would get involved to start a three on one attack – and Cobb ran them all down, before surfing on the back of Togo.
Ospreay hit the ring, and got a thumb to the eye before being tossed to the floor. Togo would hit the right hand after EVIL got some blows in, before tagging into the former IWGP Heavyweight Champion. EVIL would choke Ospreay with a T-Shirt, before SHO would tag in and hit some arm breakers.
Ospreay would get free and hit the Blast Kick, and Great-O-Khan got the tag. SHO would get driven into the corner, before a snap suplex for a two count. Togo would pull away the corner pad, allowing SHO to whip Great-O-Khan into the exposed steel, before a House of Torture charge and a Fisherman Buster.
The United Empire would huddle up and fight back, before Jeff Cobb would get Togo alone in the ring. He’d twist Dick, toss him off to the waiting arms of Great-O-Khan – who applied Sheep Killer for the victory. Cobb takes on Bad Luck Fale tomorrow, Great-O-Khan has Chase Owens on Tuesday, and Ospreay gets to look to keep his winning ways alive against Yujiro Takahashi.
Tetsuya Naito Needs This Tour To Start Going His Way
Hiroshi Tanahashi‘s tournament got off to a rough start, with him being forced into defeat by submission by Aaron Henare. Tomorrow, he faces an old rival in Tetsuya Naito – who is also looking for his first two points after dropping a match to Goto, but tonight they meet in trios action – with Tanahashi joining up with Jado & Tama Tonga while Naito has SANADA & BUSHI. Naito has put all his chips on the table for the G1, with this potentially his final chance to get to the main event of Tokyo Dome in January 2023.
Tanahashi would match up with Naito to start this match…. And SANADA would get the tag before they’d even touch. Naito would be tagged back in, and they’d loop this to play mindgames with Tanahashi – before Tama Tonga was tagged in. SANADA would throw a dropkick, and Tama would side step before looking for the Paradise Lock. This would be easily blocked, but so was a Gun Stun attempt from SANADA.
Jado would tag in and start the neverending arm wrench, quick many tags following. SANADA would get some aid from BUSHI in getting free, as Naito went after Tanahashi on the floor. BUSHI would get the tag and would stomp away on Tama, before yanking away at the face. Naito would tag in for some downward strikes, before the swing kick in the corner.
Tanahashi would tag in and hit the dropkick to the back of Naito, before being dropped with the modified Russian Leg Sweep. SANADA would get isolated after a quick brawl following tags to him and Jado, and Jado would set up the punt kick – only to be dropped. Skull End was applied, and this one was over.
