While in his native Puerto Rico, Ricky Martin was accused of domestic violence. Not only that but the accuser isn’t his husband of five years, Jwan Yosef. Details behind the accusations are sparse but what is known is that the pop star was hit with a restraining order that was filed under Puerto Rico’s domestic violence law on July 2, 2022.
Ricky Martin Hit with Restraining Order for Domestic Violence in Puerto Rico
Martin’s accuser was granted the restraining order after a judge was satisfied with the evidence presented. Even the nature of the evidence is under wraps. The accuser’s name was also withheld which sparked speculation of them being a man or a woman but definitely not Ricky Martin’s husband.
That just seems like another story to delve into once more details become available. Puerto Rican newspaper El Vocero claims to have seen the filing. According to what the publication gleaned, Ricky Martin had been involved with the accuser for seven months but broke up two months ago. Apparently, the victim is called regularly by Martin and they have seen him lurking outside their house.
A judge felt that it was plausible that a multi-million dollar pop singer would have nothing to lose and the time to stalk and intimidate their side piece and granted the order. Martin’s team responded to the allegations saying that they were false and that the details surrounding all of this will vindicate their client.
If anything, this sounds like a situation that Ricky Martin’s former business manager Rebecca Drucker should’ve tackled as she claimed to clean up the pop singer’s messes for a while. A hearing on the domestic violence allegations is scheduled for July 21, 2022.
