This Saturday at ROH Death Before Dishonor, we get the rematch of the best tag team match that fans got to see during 2022. It’s FTR vs. The Briscoes II – and this time it will be held under Best Two Out Of Three Falls rules.
This match came as a bit of a shock, as Warner Media wanted The Briscoes nowhere on their programming – an issue stemming from homophobic comments made online by Jay Briscoe many years ago. However despite all this, we now have confirmation that Tony Khan has signed The Briscoes to be part of the Ring of Honor roster.
The Briscoes Signed With ROH, TV Deal Incoming
This news was confirmed during a media call ahead of Death Before Dishonor. Khan would be asked if The Briscoes are signed to Ring of Honor, and he’d confirm that is the case. He would also state that he is confident that we will see ROH get back to weekly TV soon, but doesn’t want to do it until distribution makes sense.
When ROH hits TV again, the roster will expand – and that the future of ROH shows will make both longtime and new fans happy. More names will be showing up again soon, with the likes of Dalton Castle likely signed as well. Finally in regards to roster sharing, the AEW & ROH rosters will work as expected – with names able to show up on either show.
Colt Cabana Will Be Focused On ROH Moving Forward
During this media call, we’d also get confirmation that Colt Cabana is now focused on working with ROH instead of AEW. In regards to the relationship between CM Punk & Colt Cabana, Khan preferred not to comment – knowing it was not his place to speak on it.
Considering how iconic Cabana is to the ROH brand, and that he’s likely to be put into the Hall of Fame soon, having him focused on making ROH as great as possible? That’s a smart move. While the future of ROH looks more like a developmental brand for AEW, having veterans like Cabana on hand is something that will really help things remain steady.
