U.S Marshals Offer $5,000 Reward for Info Leading to the Arrest of the Man Who Shot Lady Gaga’s Dog Walker – James Howard Jackson Accidentally Released in April
Back in February 2021, James Howard Jackson (19) shot and wounded dog walker Ryan Fischer before stealing dogs belonging to Lady Gaga. He was later arrested and authorities managed to link four others to the attack. Of the five, Jackson, Jaylin White (19), and Lafayette Whaley (27) were charged with attempted murder, conspiracy to commit robbery, and second-degree robbery. The other two who were brought in were charged as accessories after the fact.
In a silver lining to that part of the story, Fischer is alive and said Lady Gaga was very supportive in his recovery process. Also, the dogs were returned unharmed.
However, James Jackson wouldn’t remain behind bars for long. In what the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has described as a clerical error, the 19-year-old dog thief was not only released early, his charges were all dismissed.
At the time, Jackson was in jail on over $3 million bail. In a statement from the time of Jackson’s release the Sheriff’s Department said:
“The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the inadvertent release from custody of defendant James Howard Jackson. Defendant Jackson attended court proceedings at the Clara Shortridge Criminal Justice Center on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, and was released from custody on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, due to a clerical error. The investigation is continuing and the LASD Major Crimes Bureau is actively working to get Mr. Jackson back in custody.”
