This Sunday at All Out, we will see an Interim AEW Women’s World Champion named. Thunder Rosa needs to step aside due to injury, but promises to be back soon. Toni Storm, Hikaru Shida, Britt Baker, and Jamie Hayter will all battle for that Interim championship, but tonight – all will share the ring for a tag team match. Shida & Storm will team up to take on the battle tested duo of Baker & Hayter – but alliances won’t last until Sunday.
Hikaru Shida Returns To AEW Dynamite With Something To Prove
Shida already had gold around her waist coming into this match, having recently won the Regina Di WAVE Championship. She successfully defended on AEW Dark: Elevation against Emi Sakura, and hopes to add more gold to her collection on Sunday. Shida would start with Hayter, hitting a faceplant hurricanrana, before Storm & Shida would show some tag team chemistry in the corner.
Hayter would get the tag as soon as she saw the smallest opening, before Baker & Hayter would beat down Toni Storm. Storm would be attacked in the corner, and commentary would comment that Storm just got her wisdom teeth out four days ago – likely not done by Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D. Hayter would keep the pressure on, while Baker would focus on the jaw of Storm.
She’d look for the Air Raid Crash out of the corner, but Storm would break free. Shida got the tag – and exploded into the ring, hitting a dropkick in the corner before a delayed vertical suplex. A springboard Meteora would land, but Baker broke up the pinfall. She’d get the tag and hit the neckbreaker, before a roll up from Shida got a two count. Shida would catch Baker with a dropkick, before taking Hayter off the apron.
Baker was hit with a hip attack in the ring, with Storm flowing right into the DDT on Hayter on the floor. Shida would unsheath The Katana, and that brutal spin kick would get the finish for Shida here tonight. This Sunday, it’s all women for themselves.
Kip Sabian Calls For An AEW All Atlantic Championship Match At All Out
Last week, we saw Kip Sabian unbox – and attack PAC from behind. He’s been lurking in the crowds for months, and when he caught eyes on the AEW All Atlantic Championship? The plan was set. He is calling for a title shot this Sunday, as two long-time AEW roster members meet for the newest singles belt in the company.
After so long away due to injury, Sabian is a man with a lot to prove. He’s been called the Forgotten Pillar of AEW for that reason, and has all the skills and good looks to be a megastar in AEW – and just needs that signature victory. That could come against PAC on Sunday.
The man who put Sabian on the shelf is Miro, and he’s got issues with House of Black. They tried to make a deal with the devil to take him out, but this was not enough. Now, he’s aligned with Darby Allin & Sting – who have an uneasy alliance, and this alliance will meet House of Black at All Out.
CM Punk Will Get Back Up And Fight
Earlier tonight, Jon Moxley left an open contract in the ring for a title shot at All Out. Anyone who stands up was promised a beating, and Ace Steel grabbed the contract. Being a longtime friend of CM Punk, it seemed clear that a rematch was coming – and Punk would hit the ring in his hometown to address this.
Looking beat up, Punk would recall that on June 1st – he broke his foot. Not only that, he wrestled a whole match on it, and ruined the foot. He got three plates and sixteen screws in his foot, and that foot failed him last week when he met Moxley in a Unification match. Punk would be cleared, but that new foot is giving him issues. He doesn’t know if it’s good enough.
He came back to professional wrestling for the fans, he knows this business doesn’t love him back. Punk knows he let everyone down this summer, and maybe that love of the fans isn’t enough anymore.
Ace Steel would stomp out and say this wasn’t the plan. He’s trained Punk from day one, and knows he’s better than this. It’s not about getting knocked down, it’s about getting the fuck back up and fighting. Punk was handed the contract, and told he’s fighting Moxley this Sunday at All Out. He’s revilaitzed, and will not be broken. He’s not just CM Punk, he will be the embodiment of Chicago itself.
Can CM Punk regain the title he lost last Wednesday? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
